Just nice and easy

We sticked to noodle - soup. There was a variety of choice in the soups and the way they are seasoned. It was ok-ish. too much noodle, too little taste, flavour ... wonderful seating outside in the middle of 'where it happens' ... so I enjoyed it very much being there. We booked a table for six three days before since we knew the place was good. Some of our friends even got there earlier (30 min before the table was reserved) to drink something outside. Even if they knew we've booked a table, the waiter asked a couple sitting next to us if they wanted to have a seat inside... More

There is nothing better than simple Japanese food. Unfortunately, many Japanese restaurants overseas manage to do the simple things badly. I had high expectations when H and I arrived at Makoto as most of the staff appeared to be Japanese. However, the welcome was extremely tepid and it seemed like an age before our order was taken. When our food... More

We went there for a bite to eat prior to a performance at the Volksbühne. It was quite busy, and we were placed on one of the long tables in the backroom in the middle of other groups. It took ages till someone arrived to take orders, and for the food to arrive. Compared to a lot of Asian-style places... More

OK food, something you could get anywhere just cheaper, just below average, waiting time: 45 minutes. Go somewhere else, it's not worth the money nor the time.

Waited for 30min for my food, when the restaurant was empty.. Unacceptable for a restaurant like this. Food was good, but at this point I was starving and unable to appreciate it

They have several option of ramen, rice and other stuff. Their gyoza and ramen are both nice. The waitresses are polite in the usual Japanese way.

We went to Makoto Restaurant for lunch. The restaurant is purely authentic Japanese Restaurant which specialises in Ramen with Japanese chefs and Japanese staffs. We ordered "Ramen + Gyoza" Set, Tori Katsu Don and Asahi Beer. The food was very delicious and the staff was very poliet as well as prompt. Would recommend anyone who wants to try authentic Japanese... More

We've eaten in better Japanese place in Paris. It's ok but not fantastic. The meal was too salty and the katsudon wasn't good.

The food is really tasty here and pretty authentic. I would suggest the Ramen. Delicious but would love a little more meat. The Katsu Don is good but I would suggest the chicken. The pork I found to be rather tough and chewy (which was strange and disappointing). Gyozas are great too. Service is quick and very friendly.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
