Tasty lunch in Berlin

We've been here thanks to the good reviews on Tripadvisor. The restaurant is quite close to the underground stop. We had a great lunch, consisted of a big portion of Ramen, Gyoza and beer, all for less than 10€. All the food was very tasty and we really enjoyed the lunch.

Ordered their vegitarian Ramen with Miso soup. I ordered extra bean sprouts and my boyfriend oredered extra seaweed. Of course the key of a bowl of Ramen is the soup, but the soup tasted of noodle instead of broth or miso.In the soup there were over cooked broccoli and onion, which i didn't expect. There was no seaweed in mine... More

I don´t understand the rating - for me it was a wonderful surprise to find Ramen of this quality in Germany. The Ramen is very good (remember, we are not Japan), not too salty, big portion & quickly delivered and reasonable price. What more do you expect? The chicken doburi (Tori Katsu Don) was also very taste, especially the juicy... More

I didn't expect much - there aren't really good food places in that part of Mitte. There is ample seating in the back, if the front of the restaurant looks full you may still find a spot. The staff speaks very little German and some English. Menu is in English. The edamame were too salty but a nice portion for... More

I am always after a good bowl of ramen on a cold night when I feel like I am coming down with a cold. This did the trick and was quickly delivered!

This place is great for some Japanese snacks and for warming up with some ramen. It has decent prices and service. The staff is somewhat aloof but it is enjoyable for people watching in the midst of this tourist-hipster neighborhood. My personal favorites are the gyoza and tori kara age

Despite japanese food being quite en vogue in Berlin right now, Makoto manages to resist the temptation to present a staple dish as something extraordinary. But what they do, they do right on the spot: the Ramen tastes handmade like only freshly made noodles do and the broth is hearty and tasty. I tried the Omusoba as an alternative to... More

This restaurant is bigger than it looks: there is a back room not easily visible from the street. There are also tables outside, as seems to be common in Berlin. The tables are long and shared, so it is not suitable for a romantic meal or one where you wish for privacy! Having said that, the food is delicious and... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
