Small hole in the wall

I Went to the McDonalds on the upper level of the station in alexnderplatz and they offer Burgers but no shakes. Was a bit disappointed since it was one of the hottest Days in Berlin... Burger are ok

We popped in to buy a Happy Meal as I'm a toy and box collector. There is some building work going on in the building and you need to go upstairs to get to McDonalds. There is an escalator but I'm not sure if there's a lift. The McDonalds was a bit dark and dreary but the loos were clean... More

I never experienced such a terrible service in a Mc donald. I waited for more than 30 minutes to be served. Staff don't speak English and they don't try to help you. The person who she served me gave me a coke and coffee without lid, when I asked she wasn't happy. The service is awful.

Having never visited germany before we opted for mc d's as a quick tea. The lady (brown frozzy curly hair with glasses about 40) behind the desk was really unhelpfull. As we were not understanding each other she rolled her eyes n raised her voice. Kept walking away as we tried to explain we wanted a big ma ! We... More

As always if you are not sure what's good in town this will see you through until you get a recommendation. Clean, helpful English speaking staff and right outside is the hop off hop on bus that takes you around the city.

I do eat in a wide range of restaurants but when stuck in an unknown place like a safe bet and to be honest as you know even the poshest restaurant can fail to deliver. So there is a trick in McDonalds that if you stick to works well. First don't order the premium burgers they taste no different and... More

Ok, so MacDonalds is international and you know what you will get. (Not entirely true, I had the most amazing cauliflour cheese bites with my meal in Prague once.) The food was what you would expect, but the staff had good English - especially useful for Spanish tourists, it seemed - was fairly quick and cheap. Liked the mini Mac!

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
