Excellent food. We had Soupe a l‘oignon, Huitres, Magret de canard, Sorbet citron & Fromage. The service was good. There were not many guests that Sunday night, but the waiter was neither too attentive nor too absent. Just very good. Nice place.

One of the places I looked up on Trip Advisor before we visited and really wanted to visit. I knew it wasn't going to be cheap, but I'm more than happy to pay if it's worth it. It was a Saturday night, but was actually empty when we got there. I'll start by saying - the food was actually pretty... More

We retired here for a long lunch after a morning on Museum Island and enjoyed the experience. The scallops and steak were very good. Reasonable value. Service was well paced until we'd drained every drop and wanted the bill at which point we were seemingly forgotten about.

Cannot rate this highly enough. Picked from Tripadvisor listing for our 'date night' and within walking distance. Early Friday evening in late January so walk-in was not a problem. Waiters were friendly and attentive, easily able to engage with English speakers and to put up with my halting Deutsch! Food was excellent - my Carpaccio von Hirsch melted on the... More

We ate here on our last night in Berlin and my only disappointment was that we did not find it on the first night because we would have loved to eat here again. Excellent well cooked fresh food, friendly charming service and a great atmosphere, (considering it was mid week in January it was busy.) Both the French onion and... More

I had lunch with my wife this Sunday. It was quiet, but no different to other restaurants around the area. Food was absolutely delicious! We had the onion soup for starter and beef fillet and entrecôte for main (go for the entrecôte although they were both nicely done). Service was spot on. I will definitely come back on my next... A French restaurant in Germany. Menu in both languages plus English. Didn't know whether to try my poor French or German. But English was fine. On a quiet November evening it was a good relaxing meal. Not a place if you are in a hurry. Good menu. And they had home made lavender ice cream, something we had only previously... More

Certainly try the oysters as appetizer- they tasted great. You only get 3, but with the topping it is still ok. It was a pity however that there were only 3 tables occupied, that certainly has an impact on the atmosphere.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
