Lovely lunch

We retired here for a long lunch after a morning on Museum Island and enjoyed the experience. The scallops and steak were very good. Reasonable value. Service was well paced until we'd drained every drop and wanted the bill at which point we were seemingly forgotten about.

Cannot rate this highly enough. Picked from Tripadvisor listing for our 'date night' and within walking distance. Early Friday evening in late January so walk-in was not a problem. Waiters were friendly and attentive, easily able to engage with English speakers and to put up with my halting Deutsch! Food was excellent - my Carpaccio von Hirsch melted on the... More

We ate here on our last night in Berlin and my only disappointment was that we did not find it on the first night because we would have loved to eat here again. Excellent well cooked fresh food, friendly charming service and a great atmosphere, (considering it was mid week in January it was busy.) Both the French onion and... More

I had lunch with my wife this Sunday. It was quiet, but no different to other restaurants around the area. Food was absolutely delicious! We had the onion soup for starter and beef fillet and entrecôte for main (go for the entrecôte although they were both nicely done). Service was spot on. I will definitely come back on my next... A French restaurant in Germany. Menu in both languages plus English. Didn't know whether to try my poor French or German. But English was fine. On a quiet November evening it was a good relaxing meal. Not a place if you are in a hurry. Good menu. And they had home made lavender ice cream, something we had only previously... More

Certainly try the oysters as appetizer- they tasted great. You only get 3, but with the topping it is still ok. It was a pity however that there were only 3 tables occupied, that certainly has an impact on the atmosphere.

My Family and I went a Sunday evening to Le Provencal We wanted to try Loin of lamb grilled, à la provencal. Sadly the waiter explained that the kitchen was out of this. Instead we could have Lamb cutlets grilled. We ordered a bottle of Gigondas (Domaine du Grand Montmirail) and water for all. After 5-7 minutes the waiter returned... More

We were having a friend's birthday dinner there with 6 persons, expectations were high since reading comments from Tripadvisor. Food was mediocre and expensive compared to the quality. French onion soup was just cheese and bread with no saltiness at all. Main course was ok, dessert dissapointing. Service was not good at all. Would not go there again.

I ate twice at this restaurant. On the 21 July 2014 there was a waitress and waiter who were charming and attentive. Although expensive the food was very good. So impressed I went back and although the food was equally good the service was what I describe as poor and slow. I had to get up from the table after... More
