The cottage where the restaurant is located reminded me of the restaurant owned by Helen Mirren in the film "The 100 Foot Journey". This was much smaller, not as elaborate but striking with the dark woods and very white linens. Our female servers were good and gave us samples of wine to try before we made our selections. However, the Caesar... More

This restaurant was a great find. The main dining room is an informal bistro style, as the weather was nice we dinned on the outside terrace. The history of the restaurant sucks you in, the food blows you away. A choice of two starters, two soups and 4 mains is short by any standard, but executed superbly. The Asparagus, wild... More

this was a recommendation from one of our party who had been here previously for the taster menu, and had booked again to take his mother there for mothers day, and even though he'd emailed and booked specifically for the taster menu with the accompanying wines when we arrived that menu was not available, then there was the mix up... Had the 4 course menu there with the wine pairing. The food was good, but frankly not too much my taste, as the kitchen tried some strange combinations with herbs and spices. The beef tatar was good, but again, some strange spices inside that took away the natural tatar taste. The wine pairing was great. We had plenty of nice... More

An atmospheric location, superb food and great service BUT if you have the tasting menu select the wine yourself. The 'leave it to us' option for the wine didn't match the superb quality of the food. Otherwise perfect.

Great autumn dinner starting with venison tartare, wild mushrooms, juniper berries and chestnut puree paired with chilled riesling moving into to wonderful duck provided memories of Tolstoy and the Paris Moskau railway. wonderfully inventive cuisine with terrific service appropriately priced.

This restaurant certainty gave us a perfect end to our Berlin trip. Service was superb and the menu was interesting albeit rather limited. The kitchen also surprised us with two dishes (one appetiser and dessert) which was really lovely. I really enjoyed my main dish (a beef dish) and it was cooked to perfection. The wine suggested to me was... More

My Chinese friend and I had a wonderful dinner and the food was delicious. Equally nice was the warm service by Mr Christian Thomasow and his colleagues. It felt very homely in this pulsating city Berlin, near the Hauptbahnhof and the government institutions.

First of all - the waiter was very friendly and explained all the courses very well. Unfortunately out of the 6 course menu only 2 of the dishes were on an excellent level. The lesser four were either just pretentious for the sake of being pretentious or were matched with the wrong type of wine. The biggest problem was the... More
