Outstanding Christmas dinner

We came here on Christmas Day 2014. The menu was set; there was some flexibility in the number of courses. The main course was a venison that was outstanding. Attended as part if a business group in the private room upstairs. Food was delicious and service was very good and friendly. They catered to my allergies with no hiccups.

My wife and I decided to try this restaurant for our Christmas Eve dinner. Upon arrival, we were very pleasantly greeted by the manager (I am assuming) and the evening was off to a great start. The food was good. In fact, better than good and we both enjoyed our meals. Where the experience fell short was in the service.... More

Decided to take out my mom for lunch after not being here for a couple of years. We were greeted very friendly by a blond lady who has done a great job throughout the entire meal unlike her male colleague who made a couple of mistakes which she fixed (no spoon for soup, forgot to mention that a dish we... We went to Paris-Moskaw to eat good food and to enjoy a good level restaurant, but, unfortunately nothing of those happened and we had also paid, in 4 persons, a bill of 300 Euro that was absolutely overpaying the quality of food and of the restaurant (with 2 Aperol spritz, 4 little beers and 1 bottle of white wine Riesling... A very attractive premises, unfortunately without its previously cosy outdoor area (now only a few lost chairs and tables). We were happy with our choices of mains: he had Spannferkel, I Hirschkalb--both wonderful. But there was a shortage of Starters, and I find I still cannot love beef tartare: it just tastes like something my cat would refuse. The service... More

The cottage where the restaurant is located reminded me of the restaurant owned by Helen Mirren in the film "The 100 Foot Journey". This was much smaller, not as elaborate but striking with the dark woods and very white linens. Our female servers were good and gave us samples of wine to try before we made our selections. However, the Caesar... More

This restaurant was a great find. The main dining room is an informal bistro style, as the weather was nice we dinned on the outside terrace. The history of the restaurant sucks you in, the food blows you away. A choice of two starters, two soups and 4 mains is short by any standard, but executed superbly. The Asparagus, wild... More

this was a recommendation from one of our party who had been here previously for the taster menu, and had booked again to take his mother there for mothers day, and even though he'd emailed and booked specifically for the taster menu with the accompanying wines when we arrived that menu was not available, then there was the mix up... Had the 4 course menu there with the wine pairing. The food was good, but frankly not too much my taste, as the kitchen tried some strange combinations with herbs and spices. The beef tatar was good, but again, some strange spices inside that took away the natural tatar taste. The wine pairing was great. We had plenty of nice... More

Neighborhood Profile
Moabit
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighborhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city center are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighborhood in the city.
