We were in Berlin for tourism. So after a exhausted day we were looking for a place to relax and have healthy food. At the end, we had not only a salad but also a pizza. We were starving. We had a great experience, so we the last day we repeated dinner here. Very good experience too, but this time... More

We have eaten at Vapiano in The Hague and hence when we saw it in Berlin, we decided to try. Food was good and exactly what we expected based on previous experience. Pasta here is worth trying as it is freshly cooked and not sause mixed into boiled pasta as done in most places.

Coming up the stairs to the seating area, the subtle smell of Italian cuisine enters your nose and makes your taste buds go mad. The first impression is excellent- clean, Italian style and the meal is cooked right in front of you. We had a beef and scampi salad, spaghetti bolognese, lovely fresh bread, 2x orange juice, 2x latte's, a... More

I've been to Vapiano in 8 different contries, and In general I love their concept. So this review - ofc - is only about the specific place. The experience was really bad. To make it easier i'll list it: Bad things: - The receptionist let way to many people inside. - Chefs seemed to inexperienced and slow. - Way to... More

Went with my 11 year old son , like the idea of having food while you wait but it was executed very poorly. The staff shouted at him in German as the card system is confusing . Don't think the staff liked us very much! I had risotto which was fine ! Son had pizza which he was very average.

I love places where I can watch the chef preparing my dish. That makes Vapiano my regular choice when I feel like Pizza, Salad or Pasta. Sometimes I'm turned off by the long waiting lines at the counters, but usually waiting times are acceptable. What you get though is worth a little wait: fresh, tasty and sometimes even healthy. You... More

I've seen Vapiano restaurants all around Berlin, so I decided to try. When entering, you get a card, looks like a credit card. Then you have to decide what you want to eat and stand in the correct line (one for pizza, one for salads, one for pastas, another for drinks) and wait for your turn. The problem here is,... More

The quality of the food is just ok; if you want great italian food, don´t go there. If you look for a reasonable variety of italian dishes (pasta, pizza, risotto, antipasti...) prepared on the spot at a decent price and in a cool place... This is it. Tables are shared, but that was fine with me. It would be nice... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
