Very nice pizza! Original toppings and very nice staff. Both inside and outside it is nice to sit. Nice (and not expensive) wine available.

One of my most favorite Italian restaurants in the world. The pizza is always 5* , the service is typical Italian and the restaurant has a pleasant busy atmosphere..The prices are very reasonable for Berlin! Book a table because the restaurant is usually 100% full.

If you are looking for a good pizzeria, papa pane is the right place to go. Even for an Italian papa pane offers one of the best pizza ever. A visit is a must.

This was recommended by friends who live in Berlin and it didn't disappoint. I had the most delicious pizza I have ever had in any restaurant. It's an incredibly busy place so it's best to book a table. Service was pretty good until we wanted to pay, then it took nearly twenty minutes to catch a waiters eye to get... More

We ate at Papa Pane a couple of times during our stay. Really loved their Papa pane pizza! Vino di casa was good, too. Make sure you leave some room for their tiramisu after you're done with pizza. The place gets busy after 8PM, so the service can seem a bit slow at times. Overall a good place with nice... More

I've been to Papa Pane a lot of time to have one of the best pizza in Berlin (My advice: Pizza Papa Pane, really tasty, with an amazing Bufala Mozzarella). Besides the pizza I've tried fish dishes, and it was delicious, for a reasonable price. The restaurant is quite big, the chance to find seat is good also without reservation.... More

We ate at Papa Pane's with a group of friends on a Friday nite. We asked the waitress for her recommendation of a nice, but not too pricey red wine. She told us she'll just bring the house wine in open 1L Caraffes as we'd go bankrupt if we'd order bottles. We were baffled and some of the lads just... More

Our hotel concierge said Papa Pane "known for it's food" and he was right. Very busy neighborhood restaurant, so definitely want a reservation because will wait otherwise, and really no where to wait. We were probably the only Americans there when we went, certainly not in a heavy tourist area. The menu is a challenge not being available in English... More

We came by here by chance and were attracted by the many people sitting in the sun and the huge pizzas. It was the completely full on a Sunday afternoon and people had to be turned away. The pizzas were very good, even if I found the tomatoe sauce a little too sweet. Staff managed the crowds well, they had... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
