The reviews were right

Located a bit off Hackisher Markt, it wasn't the location that brought us there - but rather good reviews. And the reviews were right, a wide a selection of tapas, ample portions (some a bit large, actually) at an OK price. Be sure to try the asparagus if in season.

We went there for Sunday lunch and enjoyed the tapas but we thought the main courses were a bit limiting. As it was a lunchtime bite, I didn't leave a tip. The manageress or waitress told us that it would be nice if you leave us somecoins.... I do not like to be told what to do. ... .

Great food, good wine from a long vine list and perfect service. Only EC and Maestro credit cards are accepted so bring cash if don't have these.

Situated between Hackescher Markt and Alexanderplatz this gem isn't in the best of locations. But it is well worth to seek out Atame for everything is right there. The tapas are great and very tasty (Don't get lured in to ordering too many thought they all look yummy.) as well as the Spanish wines. The waitresses and waiters are all... More

We have visited Berlin four times and every time we have had dinner at Atame. The food and service is great and so is also the atmosphere. We were recommended the wine of the month and it was delicious. It can be hard to get seated. Always a lot of people dining in the restaurant. You will get a lot... More

Recommended by our hotel as a good place for Tapas and wine - and it was an excellent find. No problem with ordering at about 22:00 and very tasty dishes at reasonable prices in comfortable relaxed surrounding. Excellent selection of regional Spanish wines. Very good but not exceptional - but they are probably not trying for anything else.

Evening alone in Berlin, just few hours and TripAdvisor took me to this nearby Tapas place. It was not too crowded, nicely people though. Service was good and attentive. Atmosphere quite like in Tapas places. Somehow I made wrong orders probably as portions were not to my mind this time. Serrano ham was quite ok but few other Tapas not... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
