Stopped off here on a bike tour with "fat tire bike tours" lovely place! Had something to eat from the BBQ was really nice! Cheap and cheerful. Busy and scenic. Lovely little gem nestled in the Tiergarten. Had about an hour long break here the beer was good! I was quite wary about getting back on my bike! Great place... More

Your experience at Schleusenkrug may well depend on the time and season of your visit. During the summer, after about 6:30, it becomes very busy and some diners may not like the thought of picking up their food at a window and then sharing a table with other diners. But if you just give in and understand this is how... More

I went here with a bunch of friends. I loved the huge selection of unique beers I had never seen before. They had several flavored beers served in cool mugs. I usually stay away from flavored beers, finding it to syrupy, but this beer was great! Still tasted like beer but had a kick of fruit to it. You can... More

Went here with a group of people on a Tuesday, so it wasn't crowded at all. There was plenty of seating available outside, and I was surprised I had never been here before. The food was also surprisingly good, albeit a bit expensive. I had a Mediterranean Flammkuchen, which was really good with at least twice as much cheese as... More

One of the many excellent biergarten in Berlin, we enjoyed a few Heffeweisen and a Flammkuchen after our visit to the zoo. There is another one down the park a bit, Café am Nuen See, which is just as good with an even better ambiance right on the water, but Schleusenkrug is a fine choice and convenient if you're headed... It's a kind of an oasis in the center of town. A short walk from U-Bahn and S-Bahn Zoologischer Garten, this beer garden offers a good selection of beer, wine and food. My favorites are the white wine "Elbling" and the Merguez sausages with bulgur salad. No visit to Berlin without stopping by! Even in winter it's cosy and nice... More

Actual visit: November 2012 We stopped here about half way through our fat bike tour. It was a little chilly in the area because we were in the woods somewhat. They had blankets for you to grab and wrap up with as we chose to sit outside. Considering we had a fairly large group the food came out fairly quick.... More

I visited on a cold and damp September lunchtime with a group of 15 and we elected to sit inside after pre-booking. Upon arrival our tables were ready, almost, and we were shown an english menu. Great so far. After taking the drinks orders however the waitress became increasingly rude and disgruntled, seemingly annoyed that she had so much custom.... More

What a fun beer garden to visit while in Berlin! I'm not much of a schnitzel fan but it was okay. The real attraction was the location. It was something unlike my husband and I have ever seen. Beautiful outdoor seating area in the trees overlooking water enjoying a German beer. I actually had my beer cut with sprite and... More
