Went here with a group of people on a Tuesday, so it wasn't crowded at all. There was plenty of seating available outside, and I was surprised I had never been here before. The food was also surprisingly good, albeit a bit expensive. I had a Mediterranean Flammkuchen, which was really good with at least twice as much cheese as... More

One of the many excellent biergarten in Berlin, we enjoyed a few Heffeweisen and a Flammkuchen after our visit to the zoo. There is another one down the park a bit, Café am Nuen See, which is just as good with an even better ambiance right on the water, but Schleusenkrug is a fine choice and convenient if you're headed... It's a kind of an oasis in the center of town. A short walk from U-Bahn and S-Bahn Zoologischer Garten, this beer garden offers a good selection of beer, wine and food. My favorites are the white wine "Elbling" and the Merguez sausages with bulgur salad. No visit to Berlin without stopping by! Even in winter it's cosy and nice... More

Actual visit: November 2012 We stopped here about half way through our fat bike tour. It was a little chilly in the area because we were in the woods somewhat. They had blankets for you to grab and wrap up with as we chose to sit outside. Considering we had a fairly large group the food came out fairly quick.... More

I visited on a cold and damp September lunchtime with a group of 15 and we elected to sit inside after pre-booking. Upon arrival our tables were ready, almost, and we were shown an english menu. Great so far. After taking the drinks orders however the waitress became increasingly rude and disgruntled, seemingly annoyed that she had so much custom.... More

What a fun beer garden to visit while in Berlin! I'm not much of a schnitzel fan but it was okay. The real attraction was the location. It was something unlike my husband and I have ever seen. Beautiful outdoor seating area in the trees overlooking water enjoying a German beer. I actually had my beer cut with sprite and... More

We've been in the Schleusekrug many times, usually a couple of times on each visit to Berlin. It is our favourite beer garden, not just in Berlin. There is always an eclectic mix of clientele with tourists and Berliners so a great place to watch the world go by. It's perhaps not as scenic as the nearby Cafe am Neuer... More

Its so very nice self service place. But, the meat dishes are habit overpriced and were very dry and disappointing. Not a good first meal to have in Berlin .

A perfect spot to spend an afternoon or evening unwinding, with a great beer selection. It gets very busy but the service is quick and friendly. I would guess best enjoyed during the warmer months as it's mainly outdoors and has a very relaxed vibe.
