Stopped by here for lunch and beer after a long walk in Tiergarten and we were not disappointed. The food is alright, and in combination with the relaxed vibe of the place, it makes for a good lunch stop. On a sunny day, it's easy to kill a couple of hours here.

Self service. Food was okay. Small portions but looks big because of huge salad servings. Not great value for money to pay 10 euro for vegetables. The food we did get was delicious however. It didn't take too long to prepare. The ambience of the restaurant near the train line, in the park beneath trees is worth the journey here.... More

Easy to get to in a central location not far from 2 train stops. We sat outside and there was no table service. (Order and pay /carry your own beer -they delivered the food later). The beer was not the best or worst that I have had but reasonably priced. I started with a crystal Wiesen which had less bite... More

We escaped from high winds, torrential rain into this rather scruffy looking café in the park. We needed to be warmed up fast! There was a long menu of homemade food. As it was lunchtime we opted for the potato soup @ 5euros and for an extra 50 cents added smoked salmon. We were served a large bowl of soup,... More

I had potato soup w/out salmon with a pesto sauce swirl. The combo was perfect. Breaded dumplings w spinach topped w Parmesan and a mushroom cream sauce was great for the rainy day. The server was funny, patient and laid-back. The crowd was a nice mix of young families, German hipsters and locals.

The food in schleussenkrug might be my favorite hearty and healthy food in Berlin. The salads are amazing! The service is always super friendly too. Couldn't ask for more!

We had a fabulous breakfast here while visiting Berlin on a very cold weekend! it set us up for the day. The Schleusenkrug is attractively located in the Tiergarten near the 16Juni strasse, convenient for the Sunday flea market.

In the beautiful Tiergarten, friendly, good food and beer reasonably priced. We left feeling very chilled (relaxed, not cold).

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
