A michelin star restaurant with Marco Muller one of the best chefs in germany.
From first impressions, our unimposing facade offers little of what lies within. From the moment you step inside, the RUTZ Restaurant opens up like an art gallery delivering a puristic rooms-within-rooms concept, Restaurant and Winebar. Elegant and yet simultaneously harmonious.
The RUTZ Restaurant is located on the first floor. Here you enjoy a modern laid back atmosphere amongst natural materials and an exclusive ambience of high-end hospitality.
Here you will find a perfect combination in every dish of flavor balance and creative inspiration.
Our Head Chef Marco Muller is dedicated to delivering naturally sourced ingredients of only the highest standard and variety. His creative and yet well-balanced cuisine focuses on originality, naturality and aromatics.

A great wine bar with a huge wine list. Our multi-award winning wine list offers over 850 unique bottlings with a primary focus on Riesling and German wines.
On behalf of Michelin Star chef Marco Muller, Head Sommelier, Restaurant Manager and the whole RUTZ Team, we look forward to hosting you soon.

Amazing Restaurant

Went with my friend for late dinner upstairs. From the beginning to the end everything was fantastic. The 8 courses menu make us very happy, fresh full of flavor the Sommelier was great and pick for us exactly the wine we wanted. The Staff is very very good will definitely go back when in Berlin!!!

One of the few restaurants I reserved prior to our trip to Berlin was Rutz Weinbar owing to several online reviews. Though not particularly ranking highly among TA users I’m glad to have gone and, as it turned out, experience one of the five most memorable meals I’ve ever had. The “Inspirations Menu” gives a diner numerous options for either... More

I had the blood sausage, which is totally amazing. The waiter recommended us an italian white wine which perfectly fitted with the food. Dessert was also unbelevable. Excellent place in every way.

If you want to splurge on a special night out with amazing food and wine pairings, this is the place. The wait staff was enthusiastic and welcoming while immensely knowledgeable.

We ate here last night on our last night in Berlin and the service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff literally knew everything there was to know about wine and were really good at recommending which wines would complement our meals the best. My partner had the black pudding starter and said its the best he's ever tasted!... More

I went to the place upon recommendation as they apparently have a great wine list. They are great! Instead of ordering a bottle, we chose to try several wines with our dinner. Falko, the waiter, was amazing. He would make the perfect recommendations, tell us about every wine and then leave the bottle on our table for some minutes to... More

Delighted to re-visit Rutz this December, always an interesting selection of food and even more interesting wines (served brilliantly by Falco. Most knowledgable and fun). Another great night. Thank you.

Rutz Restaurant (first floor above the wine bar ) is a one michelin start restaurant and worth the visit if you're into that kind of dining experience. Our experience as far as the food goes is very good. The restaurant is small so you need to reserve a table up front. The chef makes some unusual combinations but in a... More

I do not typically review restaurants because food taste can be such a subjective experience. In this case, I have no problem sharing our encounter with Rutz since we were never allowed to taste the food!! I also am not a person who assumes that others, especially in non-English speaking countries, should speak English. I wish however to warn those... More

We had a fabulous dinner celebrating our son's birthday. The food was incredible and there were little chef's surprises along throughout the meal. Worth every penny.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
