I joined a large event (100+ people) at Refugium. Drinks reception worked well in a pleasant environment. Pre dinner nibble were well received by the guests. Main course of chicken was good quality although the starter salad was a bit bland Overall good event

My wife and I dined at the restaurant on a trip to Berlin this weekend. The restaurant is located in the basement of the French Church in a spacious room with a dome ceiling. The waiters are swift and has "an eye on each finger". Food is excellent and is very tasty, delicate and artistic presented, but has not the... More

The restaurant is right at the "Gendarmenmarkt" in Berlin. I really enjoyed the fantastic restaurant which is actually in the "cellar" (but of course a very spacious one) of the French Church. The food is fantastic, I think I ate the best meat balls ever here, and fantastic soups. Really awesome wine selection. Can't go wrong with this. Price is... More

We ending up eating here beacuse the other restaurants we tried were full, what a pleasnat surprise. Both the food and service were excellent. There was a good choice on the menu and the setting in the crypt of a church was charming.

Location close to shopping area. We returned two days later in order to have our last dinner in Berlin without unpleasant surprises. And again good food and very friendly service.

An attractive, original dining space (a stone undercroft exuding warmth and character) in a prime Gendarmenmarkt location. The a la carte dinner menu is not extensive but cleverly manages to appeal to a variety of tastes including vegetarian. There's an interesting 3-way duck option (pate, broth and breast served in succession, not together) and the beef roulade was succulent and... More

My husband and I had dinner recently at the Refugium and couldn't rate it highly enough. As other reviewers have said the location is really central, only a short walk from the U Bahn Mitte and in fact we were staying on the Potsdamer Platz and walked there and back without a problem. The atmosphere is quite unique with fantastic... More

We have visited the Refugium three times over the last couple of years and found the lunch menu great value. Alternatively, the menu provides a first class list of options. The location is in the 'basement' of the Franzosischer Dom in the heart if Mitte. This offers a unique atmosphere and yet on our visits, there has rarely been more... More

Dinner was good but pricey. Other options in the area that are just as nice but don't break the budget.
