The wine was good, the food was nicely presented, the flavors combined so good I didn't want the evening to be over....

we where 20 people dining. The restaurant assembled everybody very nicely and had an excellent service. Very good food, nice goat cheese as first corse, and the snitzel as amin course. Excellent wienersnitzel, top 3 of those i have tried. Good choises of wine from the staff.

While holidaying in Berlin, we decided to eat at this Austrian restaurant for our wedding anniversary, having spent many holidays in various locations in Austria. The restaurant was also within walking distance of our centrally-located hotel. As the restaurant also serves as a wine shop, there is not a lot of space between some of the tables. However, there was... More

We ate at a few places before coming here. This has been the best schnitzel we both had whilst in West Berlin. Massive, tender and lean. If you're going on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night you need to book as they are a booked out restaurant. The service is friendly and their sparkling white wine is a perfect match... More

There's a thoughtful imagination at work in the kitchen at Ottenthal, that, combined with a well-trained and focused crew, delivers well-prepared, delicious, food with surprising touches, complemented by excellent wines from Ottenthal's list. My wife and I were so delighted with our first dinner at Ottenthal that we booked a second meal there during our three days in Berlin. The... More

Our third visit to this nice austrian restaurant during as many visits to Berlin. Very good service, place is not too big. During all our visits there has been a family event which turned the place noisy and happy. Classical austrian dishes including the well known" Tafelspitz" which frankly is an "aquired taste", you have to love it-which we did.Not expensive,... More

I decided to take my mother (on a visit) and girlfriend to Ottenthal as it was one of the very few (perhaps the only?) 'fine dining' restaurants in Berlin that offered organic meat on a reasonable budget. Imagine how pleasantly surprised I was when I called to ask if they have enough gluten free options, and was told that they... More

We chose to have our first dinner in Berlin at Ottenthal because of its positive reviews and proximity to our hotel. My girlfriend and I were thrilled that it lived up to its expectation! We opted for the 3 course set menu which comprised of a pumpkin and sesame seed soup with a smoked cheese foam, followed by their famous... More

Ranked as Berlin's best Schnitzel in some magazines, I was ready to give it a try! Mammoth portions, I read - it was the smallest Schnitzel I've ever seen - so was my friend's, so were Schnitzels at other tables. Portions - not great. The Schnitzel was the thinnest I've had outside of Austria, but flavorless, and the breading was... More

This was the fourth restaurant we looked at, following recommendations in my guide book (the others were full, uninviting or closed). We were not disappointed. The à la carte menu was a bit pricier than I was looking for but luckily for us they were offering their 20th anniversary €20 menu which was delicious. Cold tomato soup with goats cheese... More
