Good Top end restaurant

We last visited in 2008, The food and service is still as good as it was last time we visited. Highly recommended for a meal out for a special occasion.

i really cannot say enough about how much i love the wiener schnitzel here. i have been here maybe 10 times, and even though i have had many things on the menu over the years when i travel to Berlin for work, i keep coming back to the simple beauty of how they do the wiener schnitzel. i think its... We went there to have a nice quiet meal on a Tuesday evening. We were greeted when we entered the restaurant and they helped us with our coats. The service was excellent from we entered to we left. The waitress helped us choose a nice but rather expensive Austrian wine. We had Wienerschnitzel with fieldsalad and a cold potato salad.... More

They try but it is still a long way. All dishes a Austrian if you read the menue. If you tast it it`s more german, it is Ok and good, but sooy it is no Austrian Cuisine.

The food here is excellent. A limited menu of typical Austrian dishes. The wine list is huge and includes tens of types of wines from all over Austria. The service was also very warm. The staff speaks English. The price is a bit high, even when considering the quality. We paid EUR 80 for main courses, one desert and 3... More

We were recommended to this restaurant by a friend before travelling and were NOT disappointed. Great atmosphere, super friendly and helpful staff (inc English menus) and food to die for. Can definitely recommend the Wiener Schnitzel although everything we had was fantastic. Was busy but staff very attentive and not too loud so we could still chat without having to... More

setting: Slightly hidden on a Main Street. You won't consider it in a walk by. Thanks to trip advisors high rating it got be chosen. Interior seems small and dark. Modern with some candle light makes it cozy. Parking on the street and difficult in this area. You need to look for a parking garage. Food: We had the menu... More

Can't recommend this place highly enough. Super Austrian food, amazing wine, lovely attentive staff. No wonder it's packed.

This place is always full but I was lucky to get a seat at the bar, not having reserved. The food here is always excellent and the schnitzel has to be the best in town. Goulash with dumplings was superb on a cold Berlin night. Great Austrian beer and an excellent range of Austrian wines. The old head waiter seems... More

One of my memories of the vacation with my family in Austria some thirty years ago was a dish called Kaiserschmaren - the Ceasar's Omlet. We all cherished this memory and told about it to the young generation. When I visited Berlin on December 2014 and prepared a list of restaurant I came across the name Ottenthal, an Austrian restaurant.... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
