Looking for somewhere to eat on a Tuesday night, we stumbled in here since my Nana loves a good Weinerschnitzel. We both settled on the the Prix fixe menu and Wow! Huge portions and so delicious! You definitely get what you pay for and it was so good! We left very satisfied with the intention of coming back the next... More

Superb staff squeezed us in on a busy Sunday evening when we had not booked, My wife went a la carte while I went for the 29€ 3 course set menu. Everything was well above average and the presentation was very stylish, not so easy for say a Weiner schnitzel and potato and cucumber salad. The recommended Reisling was spot... More

This is a pleasant restaurant that was actually the best food we had in Berlin. It serves traditional dishes that are well prepared and satisfying. The sautéed wild mushrooms with chives were extraordinary and the best preparation I have ever had. Wines were well chosen, as well, with friendly service. Good value and recommended. Classical music plays softly.

Had very good meals here coupled with friendly and efficient service. The portion of Weiner Schnitzel was huge, the fresh asparagus dishes so very tasty. Well worth a visit.

Five years ago we discovered Ottenthal and never stopped talking about our meal. That time it was Sylvester and the menu was full of goose and pickled red cabbage along with their signature Weiner Schnitzel. Both the goose and Schnitzel then was as good as the Schnitzel is today. Since it was spring our Schnitzel came with half a dozen... More

After four great days in Berlin we choose to have our last meal at this lovely restaurant Warm welcome and service with lots of knowledge and attention to detail from everyone made our meal an unforgettable one, but the main reason for us to visit Ottenthal was their "bin gourmand" menu and in particular their Schnitzel .. And they did... More

My first night in Berlin, I ate at this restaurant simply after glancing at the menu. I chose a €30 3 course pre fixe menu which included pumpkin soup, wiener schnitzel, and apple strudel. Everything was fantastic, with large portions, and delicious food. Restaurant was packed for a Friday night, so service was a bit slow, but my waitress was... More

We secured a late booking to this restaurant only as there was a last minute cancellation. The venison was lovely, with an assortment of complimenting flavours. The vegetarian options were also very wide for an Austrian restaurant. Dessert was also a treat. The staff were very friendly throughout, immediately bringing an English menu after my poor attempt to greet them... More

Absolutely not my kind of food nor my kind of Berlin neighbourhood but what a truly fabulous evening. Exquisite attention to detail, kind service with humour, lovely food ( as a quasi veggie I had mushrooms with noodles - great) and a warm ambience. Highly recommend. An aperitif at the hotel am steinpkatz was just the ticket

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
