Wonderful German food

Had to dine here twice during our recent visit to Berlin. Excellent food - ordered goulash dishes on both nights. Lovely staff, as well. Very authentic German experience all around. Will be dining here during our next visit to Berlin. Cheers!

Charming restaurant. We were greeted by a lady sitting outside making sure we were welcomed and given a table in the busy restaurant. This lady has been the owner of the restaurant for over 30 years. The staff were friendly, the schnitzels were fantastic and the atmosphere was great, sitting outside on a warm evening. We went out of the... More

We were greeted by a lovely lady which for all of us instantly reminded us of Mrs.Doubtfire. She gave us recommendations of what to eat in the big and delicious looking menu. We loved the atmosphere and feel of the warm restaurant. All staff working had a lovely smile. We waited for a while on the food but it was... More

We went to this restaurant based on other reviews and we were't disappointed. The service was outstanding! Both our waitress and the owner were very nice and made great recommendations. You can tell they really care about their customers. The food was delicious and felt like real German home cooking. Also the portion sizes are huge! Overall it is very... More

We found this restaurant while walking around. It was very busy so we booked for the next day. We were very impressed with the food. Wholesome and absolutely delicious dishes. I can personally recommend the boar and stag stew with dumplings (I forget the actual name of the dish). A little more expensive than some in the area but once... More

Do you, like me, believe that German food is boring? This place proved me wrong. The food is traditional German food, and amazing. We had a main course and a dessert, an both were very good. I really recommend the roasted lamb.

This restaurant was recommended by a co-worker and we were lucky to get a reservation on our last night in Berlin. The food was outstanding! We had the Zweibelfleisch Lorbass which was a pork goulash with onions and spices, served with potatoes and a cabbage salad. My husband had the Masurischer Wildpfeffer which was wild boar and venison cooked with... More

Outstanding German homecooking and classic restaurant dishes in a beautiful "Lokal" located in a quiet side street. The duck, goulash, rouladen, pork steak were all superb. Good wine list too. A real gem.

We went there without booking and we were very lucky to get a table. For those who plan to go without reservation, I'd suggest you to go there earlier at around 6pm and they might have table available for you. We ordered smoked eel and asparagus soup as the starter, pork knuckles as the main. The smoked eel was really... More

The food was really good! We had the potato soup and the smoked salmon as starters- both were really good. Then had the fillet pot and the roasted duck. Must visit this place again

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
