OMG! So wonderful!

Service and food were terrific! We arrived on a Tues very early in the evening because we had no reservation - around 6 pm. We got a table for 2 "if we could finish in 2 hours"! We finished in 1 and 3/4. Everything was so good and the service was friendly and informative. Highly recommend.

The other reviewers are right: do make a reservation, because by the time I arrived, 7pm, the tables were full indeed and I was glad to have called beforehand. The personnel of Marjellchen all show (just like a lot of Berliners do) what a lot of this type of food does to a human body, but as for us it... More

I was so impressed! This restaurant is located on a quiet suburban street. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the service was friendly and extremely polite. The waitress spoke to us in English as soon as she noticed our German wasn't particularly good, which was very much appreciated. The food was simply amazing. An incredible experience! I can't wait... I visited this gem of a restaurant with a friend while on holiday. As it was a Sunday, we didn't think a booking would be needed. The place was busy, but the kind and generous hostess sat us at the bar, and was very attentive. The food was out of this world. Special mention is needed for the smoked goose... More

I traveled the world but this can be one of the best restaurants I have dined so far! Restaurant is traditional Prussian/German, taste is great, service is good, staff is friendly, atmosphere is authentic. Portions are huge so do not order too much. It was the best experience of my Berlin trip.

This restaurant fairly occupies it's place in the list of Berlin top restaurants. Make sure you book a table in advance, as it would be a miracle to have one w/o booking. The food is very delicious, portions are big for a fare price. Don't order too many appetizer and main dishes as it will be very hard to finish... More

Advice: book a table in advance as this place is very busy! We did not, but fortunately we could book a table for two days later. It is absolutely worth going. Very cosy, authentic restaurant with good food, generous portions, excellent service.

We read great reviews on Marjellchen on this site and marked our map for the location. We happened to be in the area and decided to give it a try....well what can I say....it is authentic! The moment you walk in to the restaurant you will feel like you are stepping into a different era, beautifully decorated. The food is... More

And when you happen to be there in May - June try dishes with asparagus. You will want to come back the next day. Gracious owner will serve you terrific wiener schnitzel (with spargel) and will tell you stories of Berlin. Do not forget to bring your appetite along with you..

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
