we asked the concierge for a restaurant offering typical local fare - it seems to be popular with tourists because the dining room was filled with every nationality except german. I heard french, spanish, english, japanese and italian spoken in the short time we were there. Food was very good. Among the dishes we sampled were the smoked ham of... More

I went here on my last day in Berlin. I came quite early with my girlfriend so there was a table for us to sit. We ordered two different dishes (both meat) and both were equally good. We shared a dessert which was big even for two. The owner is a welcoming kind woman who greeted every table and asked... More

We were seeking a restaurant serving more traditional German fare for our last night in Berlin. Our hostess/owner (?) explained to us that the foods served were of Prussian origin. The wiener schnitzel was crisp and delectable. The potato-leek grating was filling and so well flavored, I wished I could have brought it back with me to the states. But... More

We chose the Marjellchen for our first night because we wanted some traditional food, the reviews were good and it was close to our hotel. We were not disappointed and the service was extremely friendly and the food was the best we had in Berlin on our 4 night stay. The beetroot soup was amazing. We wished that we had... More

On our last evening in Berlin we wanted to visit an authentic German restaurant. We did not make a reservation, so we were lucky to get the last table available when we arrived at the restaurant around 9 pm. So if you want to visit this restaurant, be sure to make a reservation in advance. The restaurant is in a... More

As soon as we entered, we were welcomed warmly by the staff and as we were seated the owner came by to give her recommendations from the wine to the starters and main courses. She was so sweet, first asked us what our first language was, and when I overheard her later speaking in Spanish, Italian, French etc, I understood... More

We went after reading to reviews and were not disappointed at all! Go for the experience as well as the food, both of which are traditional German. The staff are really friendly; Ramona effortlessly switched between German, English and other languages to welcome her guests. We recommended it to friends who also loved it and will be going back next... More

A friend and I were looking for some traditional German food during our trip and happened upon Marjellchen by chance. Sometimes chance IS a fine thing! The food was superb, service very warm and friendly, setting and ambience very cosy and prices more than reasonable considering the quality! Can't wait to visit again in the hopefully near future.
