This restaurant is a MUST when visiting Berlin. So genuine and special. The food is splendid , service impecible and the hostess/owner seems to always be on the premisis, speaking to everyone an makeing sure that everything is to the guests satisfaction - with a very personal touch (she makes a point to speak some words in the guests mother... Went here with my wife for dinner as we wanted to try a German cuisine restaurant and it did not disappoint. The venue itself is very intimate and sophisticated without being pretentious and has a nice homely feel. The food was excellent - having not tried much German food before, I asked for recommendations and decided on a beef dish... More

It was a very nice dinner, with excellent food, very good and friendly service and a nice environment. What else could we ask. We started with snails "Marjellchen", very tasty and then we had the pepper steak in cojnak cream sauce. The meat was tender and the sauce gave a rich flavor. We really enjoyed it, and surely will come... More

We had booked, which is just as well. The restaurant filled up with other bookings over the next hour. The style is reminiscent of years gone by. Impeccable tablecloths and tableware. The goose and three sorts of cabbage was excellent. When we visited there were a number of locals eating, including a large family group. Always a good sign, as... More

I have found this place on tripadvisor. The furniture wasn't modern and look a little bit old. The owner and the waitress were nice and kind and spoke a good english. On the menu we found many tipical german dishes like pork knuckle and deer ham. All the dishes was tasty and wellcooked. A very remarkable place.

Chose this restaurant after reading reviews on trip advisor. We were not disappointed. We had not booked but were made very welcome. Service and food were excellent. Big portions of traditional German food. Wonderful evening. Would recommend a visit.

I was alone in Berlin and decided to visit this restaurant given the high rating in TA. No disappointment at all! I hadn't booked so I had to wait a bit at the bar area. Service was great, the 2 lovely ladies made me feel comfortable and welcome. The food - schnitzel as always! - was beautifully prepared and had... More

I had diner in Marjellchen alone during business trip; the restaurant owners make all possible so I feel confortable and had a nice diner. Food was very tasty and with a large variety of meat, fisch and vegetarian dishes at reasonable prices. The decor with little lamps and candles creates a very cosy atmosphere. I chose this restaurant based on... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
