In September 2014 Restaurant Maharadscha has completed 30 years. We want to say a large thank you to all our guests for their faith in us. Restaurant Maharadscha is twice in Berlin. If you want to experience authentic Indian food you are here at the right address. We serve chicken, lamb, duck, fish and other seafood dishes but we do have a variety for our vegetarian and vegan guests as well. Here you can forget your prejudices against Indian food since you decide whether you want your dish mild, good-seasoned, spicy or very spicy. One of the owners is always at your side to make your visit memorable. Even though we have a large number of dishes, every meal is been prepared freshly after your order is placed. Both restaurants are located very central. You can get to Maharadscha in Schoneberg easily in 5-10 minutes from the underground station Wittenbergplatz (Kudamm with KaDeWe). Maharadscha 2 is only 3 stations away from Alexanderplatz (central sightseeing place with TV tower). So tourists can easily travel to both restaurants. Please notice: We don't accept credit cards. Only German EC card or cash.

Fantastic service

I was in Berlin on vacation with a large group of friends (8 of us, all Americans) when I visited Maharadscha. We had a great experience. The food and price were both strong points, but what really stuck in our memory was the service. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive. She spoke... read more

As I entered the place I was greeted with a smile n offered a table.I was delighted to see that typical Indian atmosphere with our traditional dress n bindi with sindoor and asked the lady how she feels about it and was surprised to hear the answer. After a bit of chit chat I ordered my dal makhani n ALU... More

I was in Berlin because of I.T.B and being an Indian, I was missing my Indian cusine. So, I went searching for a good eating place and landed up in maharadscha.(Difficult to pronounce anyways......). I ordered Bhindi with Laacha paratha and Dal makani and the food was really amazing and the service was equally good. The resturant looked very neat... More

So we went to a excursion to Berlin. We study in Bremen. I must say that the food was delicious and we were a big group aprox 25 persons. we didn't find any trouble in fact they served everything in time. We ended up having a delightful evening and surely we will come back. The hosts are super friendly :)

My boyfriend and I went to Maharadscha due to a high average from hundreds of reviews on this site. When we arrived my boyfriend told the waiter that he has a severe cashew nut allergy so would need to check if dishes contained them. The waiter understood and said "no problem". When the waiter took our orders, we ordered two... More

Great service and good food at a great price. Standard Indian with generous portions. The waiter was very good at advising us with regards to hotness. Good place.

Wonderful Indian meal, as always, with some new specials on the menu. Make sure you try the Bhindi - absolutely fantastic. The hostess, who speaks extremely good English, provides good advice on complementing food types and got it just right. But the Bhindi - can't say enough about it! Will be back for more upon our return to Berlin in... More

Not as often in Berlin as in the past but at least one evening at Maharadscha is a must!! Its difficult to find good, authentic tasting Indian restaurants in Germany but this is certainly one of the best. The prices are also very reasonable. Was happy to see that they now offer Paratha. Mrs Ravinder is an excellent and communicative... More

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
