In September 2014 Restaurant Maharadscha has completed 30 years. We want to say a large thank you to all our guests for their faith in us. Restaurant Maharadscha is twice in Berlin. If you want to experience authentic Indian food you are here at the right address. We serve chicken, lamb, duck, fish and other seafood dishes but we do have a variety for our vegetarian and vegan guests as well. Here you can forget your prejudices against Indian food since you decide whether you want your dish mild, good-seasoned, spicy or very spicy. One of the owners is always at your side to make your visit memorable. Even though we have a large number of dishes, every meal is been prepared freshly after your order is placed. Both restaurants are located very central. You can get to Maharadscha in Schoneberg easily in 5-10 minutes from the underground station Wittenbergplatz (Kudamm with KaDeWe). Maharadscha 2 is only 3 stations away from Alexanderplatz (central sightseeing place with TV tower). So tourists can easily travel to both restaurants. Please notice: We don't accept credit cards. Only German EC card or cash.

After trying not so good Indian restaurant in Copenhagen, this was a delight. They serve real good authentic Indian food. The quantity is generous and one feels satisfied after the meal. They also vary the food spices based on your taste palates. A must try if you are look for good Indian food in Berlin.

The staff is the best and does everything to make sure you're enjoying your visit. They don't take card so make sure to have cash whihc we didn't but it was no worry to go and get some and come back. The palak Paneer was great

The food was excellent and the service was friendly and professional. Unfortunately, our kids were over-energetic so we couldn't fully enjoy the place, but at least the crew understood our situation :)

The food here is phenomenal and also a great value. In the United States, these prices would probably get you a very mediocre Indian buffet, not the incredible dishes that are served here. I took my little sister last night, and she was in heaven. Add to that friendly, fast service from a genuinely lovely Indian family who speak impeccable... More

I was in Berlin on vacation with a large group of friends (8 of us, all Americans) when I visited Maharadscha. We had a great experience. The food and price were both strong points, but what really stuck in our memory was the service. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive. She spoke impeccable English and went out of her... More

As I entered the place I was greeted with a smile n offered a table.I was delighted to see that typical Indian atmosphere with our traditional dress n bindi with sindoor and asked the lady how she feels about it and was surprised to hear the answer. After a bit of chit chat I ordered my dal makhani n ALU... More

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
