We had an absolutely incredible evening at Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer. They mixed tradition with innovation and creativity, and the dinner was full of surprises throughout. The meny was very well balanced, with a combination of style, finesse and playfulness. The atmosphere was nevertheless calm and relaxing. Everyone we met were professional, friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back!

My partner and I went here a couple of years ago. We loved it so much we booked a trip to Berlin especially for this hotel to treat my father for his 60th birthday. Although the setting is wonderful and food excellent, they tried to charge for an extra wine flight which is about a hundred pounds. When you've been... More

The Esszimmer is a very fine looking dining room overlooking the Brandenburger Gate. The food is very good indeed, with one particular dish making it into the top three of best things I've ever been served. Most dishes were delightful, with a clear German bend which I had been hoping for when I picked this restaurant. There were one or... More

Not a big fund of michlin's Stars restaurant, went with my husband, which is a big fund, and had a great experience. Had the 140 euro pp tasting menu. Comfortable ambiance, kind waiters, delicious food served in a beautiful way, and many small complimentary dishes which are feast to the eyes. We're in few restaurants in Paris two months later... Close to the Brandenburg gate and with a reputation that was so big that I was sure it could not do anything but underwhelm me, I was wrong it was incredible. Small by design but huge on taste and tantalization. The menu was fantastic the service was faultless and my only surprise was that it did not have 3 stars.... More

The restaurant is a stunningly beautiful room on the first floor, with well-spaced tables and a fantastic view of the Brandenburg Gate. My wife and I booked a table of six to celebrate our pearl wedding anniversary. We were joined by my two daughters and their boyfriends. We received a very warm welcome from the Restaurant Manager, Boris Häbel. He... More

Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer is the gourmet restaurant of the Adlon Hotel, right next to the Brandenburg Gate. Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer holds two Michelin stars and in my view it is probably the best restaurant in Berlin, at least if you prefer a more traditional dining experience. The whole feeling is very intimate and upscale without being uptight and stiff. Specificallythe... More

The culinary treats were served so stylishly and the service was excellent throughout. Of course, it's pricey but a definite treat as the experience is one that I will remember for a long time

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
