Being going to this place for years now and it's like stepping into a good Parisian restaurant. The staff are charming, the wine is excellent and the menu is very good. It's not cheap, but the food is cooked with love and well presented. If you're hankering for a French onion soup or a creme brulee, this is the spot.

My wife and I have visited La Cocotte several times over the years. This is one of our favorite restaurants anywhere. The food is outstanding - especially the signature dishes cooked in cocottes. Try the "Porcelet a la Corse"! Waiters are friendly, and there is always a great atmosphere there. We strongly recommend La Cocotte.

I am just back from "La Cocotte" where I had one of the worst service experiences in recent years. I had booked a table for two to invite my young French teacher who has recently passed his university exam. The teacher was a little late, and after a few minutes the waiter (a bulky guy with glasses) brushed past my... More

Met up with a friend for dinner at La Cocotte. It is such a nice restaurant. The staff was excellent as well as very friendly. The atmosphere was very French. We had an excellent meal. The couscous and the coq au vin were delicious . The terrace is a very comfortable place to sit. It's also located right off of... More

Nice restaurant. Good food not to much just enough. Great service and a nice atmosphere. You have to know the place because you won't find normally.

We arrived there after seeing some good reviews here, the place is located in a nice side street and very well decorated, a nice atmosphere of part bar part restaurant and a friendly (but not so service oriented) stuff, welcomed us in. The food on the menu looked interesting (but a little over priced), we decided to go for the... More

The food is good and hearty but what really makes this place is the ambiance combined with the eccentric charm of the owners. Even sitting at the bar is entertaining. You really get dinner and a show here. This is not a tourist trap although there are tourists here too. It is a real quirky, fun and tasty Berlin experience.

I visited La Cocotte with 10 colleagues. The restaurant staff were welcoming and friendly, there was plenty of choice on the menu, wine list was good and the food was delicious. Main courses are served in quirky metal cooking pots and the inside of the restaurant was cosy and warm. Just a little comment, you can only pay cash, no... More

With three quarters of the tables occupied, the service becomes extremely slow and chaotic. It's a shame, because the food is quite nice and well priced...at least 4 out of 5 for the food. One out of five for the service during busy evening hours (it was a Saturday night, reservation for 20:45). Four out of five for the prices.... More

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
