Traditional and experimental/modern sushi

Great sushi food; besides traditional sushi also the more experimental or modern variations of sushi. Atmosphere is nice; typical sushi-place. Quite popular so had to sit inside during summertime. Worth making a reservation.

We changed our original decision and came to Kuchi thanks to the trip advisor reviews. Definitely can say that the reviews were spot on and I can say one of the better Japanese meals we have had anywhere on our travels. The extreme sushi selections were great. The pizza and the soft shell crab need special mention. The service was... More

Loved the food. The beef donburi was excellent, flavorful and a good portion. Sat outside in the garden and found it a wonderful atmosphere and place to be. The credit card machine broke while we were there, but thankfully we had enough cash. They were very accommodating and apologetic about it, and it was no problem. Would have liked some... More

It is worth to go and eat in this restaurant. The staff was really kind, they immediately found me a spot and were attentive to me. I ate a very tasty bowl of ramen, I don't give 5 stars only because it was no match for the ramen I ate in San Diego...sorry!

We ate here twice while in Berlin! Great food, good vibe, good music, super fun place. Staff was excellent and very friendly. This place is busy and very popular so it's noisy when it's busy (obviously). We ate inside but they also have a very nice outdoor patio. Highly recommend if you are in Mitte and want to eat good... I called and booked a table for 7:15, and showed up at 7:25. The guy said "we were too late" and he gave our table - so on a sunny warm evening he suggested we sit inside. I wouldn't mind sitting inside but his manner was rude and not constructive. There were more than 2 empty tables we could have... More

Good sushi places seem hard to find in Berlin. This is a little out of the center, the sushi is good but the restaurant has more of a feel of a take-away. busy, lively and good for a quick meal , but not the place to linger over a meal.

I took my family for lunch today. The sushi was good and we ordered copious amounts of it. My wife had wine and I had lemon soda but our daughters were not permitted more than one tiny glass of tap water. Who would refuse to serve a child tap water? The waitress was aggressive and rude. This is unacceptable. Avoid!

Place is pretty cool, the menu is quite large with many choices of mixed Asian specials. The portions were pretty big too. Edamame served in a super cool way! The service was pretty good and our waitress was friendly and helpful. There was a distinct frying smell in the restaurant which was a pity and the bathrooms were in a... More

Went with my husband on a Sunday evening and had a great time. The sushi was amazing (we took the special plate for 2) as well as the service. Great value for money The atmosphere needs a boost : the lights are too bright and the acoustics make everyone around you yell, which can give you an headache if you... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
