Good food in a beautiful setting

We stumbled on the restaurant by chance and were drawn in by the beautiful furnitures. It was a genuin Maroccan atmosphere. The staff was both efficient, professional and nice. A rainy Sunday in Berlin in February? What could be better than some Moroccan food? Kasbah was just the spot - tucked away down a quiet street in Mitte it's a small enough to have atmosphere but big enough to get a table. The portions were just right, the food was really good, especially the Briouats to start, and the... More

Being a fan of Moroccan food and having been several times in Morocco, I wouldn't expect to have the finest Moroccan meal of my life. However, we had a good evening at this restaurant, both because of its honest and tasty food and the friendly Moroccan staff hospitality, surrounded by authentic Moroccan craft work.

We loved our dinner at the Kasbah. As you enter, you find yourself in a very atmospheric place. The waiter took our order and then helped us wash our hands with rose water. We had a couple of vegetarian entrees and then tagines. Mine was saffron chicken and it was very tasty. If you drop by this area and you... More

Some of the best Moroccan food I have had outside of Marrakech, the pastella was so tasty and the tajine one of the best I have ever had. The staff; especially the owner manager, could not do enough for us and they all spoke excellent English. We will be back !!!!!!!

The restaurant has lovely authentic decor and comfortable seating. It was too warm inside on the evening we were there. The staff was friendly, but our female waitress spoke no English which led to a couple of misunderstandings with our order which was never resolved again because of no English. The food is quite nice. All in our party had... More

Since the arrival you will feel the welcome atmosphere with an adequate illumination and comfortable furniture that will start to embrace you in your pause. Very friendly waitresses which after some words will bring you the menu and perform a nice ritual washing your hands with scented water. Menu very well developed ... recommendation of course are dishes like Tajines... More

I had the Chicken and Cous Cous and it was very good. We also had the eggplant appetizer and that was superb. I highly recommend it. Others in our party raved about the lamb and Cous Cous.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
