Way too expensive.

I always drop in for an honest and straightforward japanese meal. Though the fish isnt the best quality service is earnest and efficient and taste is authentic. I recommend chirashi sushi and the momoko drink. I would pass on the miso soup and noodle dishes.

Goko is not cheap but worth it. The personnel is extremely nice and for once in Berlin, actually Japanese.

Special sushi preparation is the wooden box style, Goko says its the only restaurant in Berlin doing this Oshi Sushi. A first for us, very nice. On a side note, TripAdvisor brought is there with the offline guide, as we had a sudden craving for sushi while walking the Hackescher Markt.

I love sushi and this place is really good. On top of it we could have a nice lunch outside, in a beautiful area, just out "14oz" shop (very nice too). The service is nice but a bit slow. I quickly saw inside the place too and it seems ok as well. It's not cheap but if you want decent... More

I have been stopping at Goko many times in the latest years and beer got disappointed. It lacks somehow the coziness of the classic Japanese place but the food is consistently good and re service...Japanese!! Recommended.

we went to this japanese restaurant after a movie at 21.30 h to grab some sushi. The place is nicely furnished, with long tables and benches (beware that is too crowded you might sit near strangers). We ordered mis soup, udon noodles, sushi and maki. Food was fresh and tasted good. The sushi were slightly smaller than avarage. The staff... More

Had a great selection of food, which was all very well prepared, especially the hotati the sashimi scallops. Some of the best fresh seafood I have tasted in a Japanese restaurant. Highly recommended!!

Goko excels at its interior: Long benches of thick blond wood in a rather small space right next to Hackescher Markt. run by genuine (!) Japanese, you can expect good quality of sushi and sashimi. There might be slightly better places for J food in Berlin, think Sasaya or Yoshioko, but Goko is quite nice too.

We went to this place because of raving reviews and were disappointed to find it very similar to many other Japanese restaurants. Exceptional it is certainly not, the miso soup was heated in a microwave, maki were ok but could be fresher and fuller in terms of flavour. The place is stuffy inside and it did not smell good. It... Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
