Description: The gourmet restaurant „first floor“ with Michelin-starred Chef Matthias Diether interpret classic haute cuisine in a refreshingly modern way and have great appeal to connoisseurs and the young scene. Sophisticated, precise and often subtle, every dish is a small work of art with a love of detail – taking the Chef and his team up to 40 steps to prepare each dish. What the guest then receives is pure enjoyment. The international award-winning wine list with more than 1,500 wines complements the fine food creations brilliantly.

The food is exceptional, the serving staff are excellent and the sommelier is very, very good. The ambiance is agreeable for a hotel restaurant so overall it's a 5 but the whole experience was too slow. This was the last night of our trip to Berlin. We arrived a little early and were given our amuses bouche on the sofa... More

The food is very good and innovative. Service was almost perfect. We especially appreciated that they offered a wide range of complimentary appetizers before the dinner. The decor is nice but could perhaps be more exciting.

I went to the First Floor restaurant with my friend and it was a lovely experience. The food was amazing, Jean the Restaurant Manager was very friendly, attentive, polite and couldn't do enough for us. He explained all the dishes to us. I can't wait to come back again, a top quality restaurant. Very happy customer :)

I wonder if I have ever tasted better prepared food. We didn't have the tasting menu but so many delicious surprises were offered in addition to are main course that it felt like a special occasion . The beef cooked in two ways was extraordinary. You don't have to choose wine at a ludicrous price as the 60 euro bottle... More

The food was very good but they took centuries to bring it. Service is not their strenght, even though the check was very high.

This is a restaurant where creative cuisine really works! Every dish is well presented, surprising, but never eccentric. The quality of this one star restaurant is at the upper end of the scale, better than several two star restaurants I have visited. Nice surroundings, attentive service. The lunch set menu is good value for money.

This was a truly exceptional evening. I celebrated my birthday with best friends and wine lovers. We were looking forward not only to good food but also to some new wine tips. Well, Mr. Tietz did his best and served us pairing wine just right to the menu, which included some new names and grapes such as St. Laurent etc.... More

I'm a big fan of this formal restaurant with a terrific wine program. The staff is wonderful and extremely professional -- two visits with large parties and they performed without error and gave the sense that they just don't make mistakes here. The food is wonderful and they're clearly going for great ingredients. Does every combination hit the spot every... More

We were expecting a lot of this place but it didn't live up to expectations, the service was impeccable but the food just wasn't very good. I mainly had an issue with the flavours, or rather the lack of them, if you are going to serve "foam of" whatever it should at least taste of it, same for an "essence... More

First of all we hadn't planned to eat here. I won't bore you with the story but you can learn more in my review of the Brandenburger Hof. If your idea of value for money in a restaurant is the amount you get on your plate then don't eat here. If you like innovative and beautifully prepared food and wines... More
