The gourmet restaurant „first floor“ with Michelin-starred Chef Matthias Diether interpret classic haute cuisine in a refreshingly modern way and have great appeal to connoisseurs and the young scene. Sophisticated, precise and often subtle, every dish is a small work of art with a love of detail – taking the Chef and his team up to 40 steps to prepare each dish. What the guest then receives is pure enjoyment. The international award-winning wine list with more than 1,500 wines complements the fine food creations brilliantly.

I was really surprised my colleagues were staying at the hotel and they suggested we try it out. I knew nothing about it and therefore was very surprised it is creative and inspired and the food is presented so well. The chef really understands food because the presentation inspires and excites the taste buds. There is then a meeting of... More

The first impression I got, entering Palace hotel in Berlin, heading to the First Floor restaurant was the emphasize on personal attitude, on high class and design. And indeed when I enter A restaurant which gained a Michlin star - it goes without saying. I read about the Chef and my expectations were high. The table in whole was elegantly... More

We had booked into the Hotel Palace and it was only later on that we discovered that this restaurant was in the hotel and had a Michelin star. So, as we were in Berlin for a weekend to celebrate my birthday I booked us in as a special treat. It certainly was a treat and we will talk about this... More

Good location, nice menu, but the waitress was too eager to sell the set 6 course menu. She recommended this at least three times, and gave the menu only as requested. I agreed to have the menu, but with some small changes. Didn't work quite well. I would expect that in this kind of restaurant, your presonal requirements would be... More

We usually are reluctant to eat in the hotel where we stay. Dejan Urosev, the concierge, frankly told us it was one of the best in Berlin. He was not exaggerating and our Canadian friends enjoyed a marvelous dinner there with us.

An absolutely amazng meal I can't quit telling people about. In fact two couples I told have already been there and said the same thing. They kept bringing us "surprises" throughout the meal . I didn't think I'd eaten alot but by the end of the meal I was totally packed. It's worth going just to see the presentation alone. Do... More

The food is exceptional, the serving staff are excellent and the sommelier is very, very good. The ambiance is agreeable for a hotel restaurant so overall it's a 5 but the whole experience was too slow. This was the last night of our trip to Berlin. We arrived a little early and were given our amuses bouche on the sofa... More

The food is very good and innovative. Service was almost perfect. We especially appreciated that they offered a wide range of complimentary appetizers before the dinner. The decor is nice but could perhaps be more exciting.

I went to the First Floor restaurant with my friend and it was a lovely experience. The food was amazing, Jean the Restaurant Manager was very friendly, attentive, polite and couldn't do enough for us. He explained all the dishes to us. I can't wait to come back again, a top quality restaurant. Very happy customer :)

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
