The gourmet restaurant „first floor“ with Michelin-starred Chef Matthias Diether interpret classic haute cuisine in a refreshingly modern way and have great appeal to connoisseurs and the young scene. Sophisticated, precise and often subtle, every dish is a small work of art with a love of detail – taking the Chef and his team up to 40 steps to prepare each dish. What the guest then receives is pure enjoyment. The international award-winning wine list with more than 1,500 wines complements the fine food creations brilliantly.

Wonderful experience. Utterly memorable.

We love our food and wanted to experience some of the best restaurants in Berlin. We were not disappointed by First Floor. We went with an open mind and enjoyed the 4 course meal which really ended up being 7 courses… the pre-starter and pre-dessert padded out what was a wonderful experience... read more

We went with an open mind and enjoyed the 4 course meal which really ended up being 7 courses… the pre-starter and pre-dessert padded out what was a wonderful experience, especially the wagyu beef which was spectacular. Having decided to go to Berlin and having a great passion for good food we choose to go to First Floor. We were greeted by friendly staff and decided that we would ask the chef to surprise us with each course, we had a four course taster with cheese. A glass of champagne along with a bottle. I would say... More

My husband and I went to First Floor for a tasting evening, which we don't usually go for. As it was Valentine's Day, only a tasting menu was on offer. And boy am I glad about that! The menu had five courses, but by the time we'd been presented with all the little extras, we reckon we had eleven! And... More

My husband and I love Berlin. There is so much to do and there are so many restaurants to chose from. Last weekend we visited the city again second time this year. This time we headed to the Michelin starred First Floor restaurant for dinner. We were greeted by very friendly staff. There don't seem to be any menus either... More

Our first stop in Berlin as it says first floor, we had the corner table, me, my wife and the sons 26 and 29. Sparkling German Pinot Noir Brut Nature from Baden a treat . Then starters, and a great menu of many courses, wines were picked up by the sommelier a guy who knows his stuff, nice Riesling from... More

I was really surprised my colleagues were staying at the hotel and they suggested we try it out. I knew nothing about it and therefore was very surprised it is creative and inspired and the food is presented so well. The chef really understands food because the presentation inspires and excites the taste buds. There is then a meeting of... More

The first impression I got, entering Palace hotel in Berlin, heading to the First Floor restaurant was the emphasize on personal attitude, on high class and design. And indeed when I enter A restaurant which gained a Michlin star - it goes without saying. I read about the Chef and my expectations were high. The table in whole was elegantly... More

We had booked into the Hotel Palace and it was only later on that we discovered that this restaurant was in the hotel and had a Michelin star. So, as we were in Berlin for a weekend to celebrate my birthday I booked us in as a special treat. It certainly was a treat and we will talk about this... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
