It was not the first time I took friends to this beautiful place right next to "Checkpoint Charlie". I wasn't disappointed once. The steaks there are amazing, just like the salads and the "frites". Make sure you save some room though, the mousse au chocolat is probably the best you can get in Berlin. I will definitely be back, even... More

I went here with a group of friends for a nice meal; it was that and more. The service was very attentive, the food great. The menu has a variety of choices, everyone in our group enjoyed the meal very much. Try the duck confit, it sits on a bed of sauerkraut! And they take credit cards, not a norm... More

As an alternative to local fare, we tried this French restaurant. We shared a chateaubriand - the quality of the steak was first rate and it was cooked to perfection. It's a lively place and was full on the Saturday we ate there.

We went there for a romantic dinner and the experience was pretty good. All the waiters were kind with us and treated in a special way. Food and wine were good but the bill a lil bit expensive. Suggested!

Attended with my wife and son and was pleasantly surprised. We had no reservation and the staff were happy to accommodate even though the restaurant was very busy. i was equally impressed that they were able to make my son something that was not on the menu as he is a very fussy eater. My wife enjoyed her food and... More

This was my second visit to Entrecote. And this time it was even better, and food was marvellous, service was over the top and price was fair. Its probably the best piece of meat i have enjoyed, as long as I can remember. Well, everything was sooo god. And the waitors smiled, helped, poured your wine, and just made everything... More

Despite it being a Sunday night, I was pleased to have booked in advance as the restaurant filled with customers. Slightly disoriented by the prevalence of French as the spoken language! Can highly recommend the steak Chateaubriand. The only (slight) disappointment was that we were supplied automatically with Perrier without being offered Badoit as an alternative. Would have been nice... More

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
