Best Steak-Frites Outside Paris!

This restaurant, in the shadow of Checkpoint Charlie, has a very diverse menu, more so than similar steak houses in France. But to my mind you can't beat the steak-frites, the house specialty. What makes them special is the sauce, as close as I've tasted to the sauce served at the Entrecôte chain... read more

We visited this restaurant as it was close to our hotel and looked appealing. We have a warm welcome on our arrival - we had not booked as we thought they would have room on Monday evening - we were lucky to get a table. Quality ingredients - beautifully presented within a delightful environment - one highlight of our trip... More

We came across this place and booked for our last night in Berlin. Very lively and a lot bigger inside than what we first thought. Food was superb with hubby saying best steak he had ever had. Our waitress was really nice and helpful. Would definitely book in advance if going to Berlin at a busy time. We did book... More

Had a nice dinner with some friends. The food was delicious and the service was excellent! If I remember correctly, it was even better than the real thing in Paris, but obviously it's not only the food,it's also depends on the company... lovely french music which contribute to the atmosphere. Enjoy!

We walked in this restaurant by chance after a long day and it turned out to be a pleasant discovery. The place is run by a French chef and owned by a Tunisian. The food is fantastic and so is the atmosphere. Be prepared to be spoken to in French :) I had the best desert I ever had in... More

We came to the Entrecote on the recommendation of the Hilton Hotel...we did not have a reservation, however, the staff was amazing to give us a great table near the bar. The food was truly out of this world, the 12 oysters were fresh and flavourful, the 12 Escargot were delicious, then the Filet of Angus Beef medium rare was... More

We first dined at Entrecote's 3 years ago, when we were last in Berlin. So when we were in Berlin again this March we decided to re-visit . And we were so glad we did so. We had a wonderful meal on our first evening in the city and were so impressed decided to spend our last night there as... More

If you're in Berlin and tired of schnitzel, goulash and pork knuckle then this restaurant should be on your list of possibilities. We had the escargot (good), sole (very good), vegetable consume' (very good) and the boeuf stroganoff (excellent). The staff was attentive and helpful and everyone in the restaurant seemed as they were very pleased with the experience.

It was not the first time I took friends to this beautiful place right next to "Checkpoint Charlie". I wasn't disappointed once. The steaks there are amazing, just like the salads and the "frites". Make sure you save some room though, the mousse au chocolat is probably the best you can get in Berlin. I will definitely be back, even... More

I went here with a group of friends for a nice meal; it was that and more. The service was very attentive, the food great. The menu has a variety of choices, everyone in our group enjoyed the meal very much. Try the duck confit, it sits on a bed of sauerkraut! And they take credit cards, not a norm... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
