I stumbled upon this place while out running in the Tiergarten on the Sunday morning of our weekend in Berlin and thought it looked like a nice spot for breakfast. I was right, it was fantastic. The service isn't the quickest in the world as others have pointed out, but on an autumn Sunday morning with the sun shining on... More

One of the best meals we had in Berlin (and we ate a lot of good food)! The restaurant itself is charming and cosy, the staff were very friendly and explained everything to us in English as the menu is only in German. I had the German sausage on potato salad and my boyfriend had the pan-fried duck leg. Both... More

My husband and I stopped here with our two year old after a heafty walk towards Tiergarten. The log fires were welcoming and the staff friendly and polite. The decor is quite shabby chic with lots of interesting features. The gentlemen serving offered us a high chair straight away and seated us by the window overlooking the water. It was... More

We visited as it was recommended by the guidebook and hotel. No welcome or service. The place was practically empty but we sat there for fifteen minutes and in that time the only thing that occurred was the wiping of our table, even that was slow. We should have realised it would be poor when the 'waitress' advised us that... More

We really enjoyed this restaurant. It wasn't overly busy when we arrived and we found the service was up to scratch. Our waiter was recommending great German dishes and you can't deny the beauty of the spot. It was a little expensive but I definitely think it was worth it for the serenity and lack of tourists. Would go back... More

this is more than a cafe that the name and other reviews suggest. We went at twilight in October and it was warm and candlelit. The view of the Tiergarten lake was beautiful. We had lovely pizza and pasta. Very handy for Berlin Zoo

Service is terrible. We went on Sunday morning and waited an hour for our food then gave up. Returned Monday evening (it was beside our hotel), service was slow again but since it was empty, it was ok - you could go and get the waiter if necessary Cappuccino was quite decent, cheesecake quite inedible but the chocolate cake was... The dishes are OK but they are way too expensive considering their quality. The service is rude -I would even say extremely rude in some cases- and very slow. The place is wonderful and you can enjoy a cafe in one of the best locations of Berlin. That is simple wonderful and worth visiting at least one.

It's actually difficult finding authentic German food in the centre of Berlin but this place serves some huge portions of meat with authentic accompaniments, great beer and value wine. We ate here twice and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's not easy to find for tourists and was mainly full of locals of all ages. Loved the atmosphere and the young staff... More

One of my favorite haunts during the summer months.. Great bavarian beer, great pizza and grill dishes and a fantastic location. it's a self serve place so nothing to say about the service. The owner also has one of the top dining addresses here in Berlin. He's no rookie. beautiful place in the park near the Siegessäule. You can walk... More
