Enjoyable food and atmosphere, slow service

I was recommended this place by a friend and I'm glad I visited. The interior is very homely with log burning fires, the view of the lake and park is very pleasant and the food is good. I had a pizza which was very large and cooked perfectly. My Mum had a salad which was slightly less value as... read more

This place has so much potential, located in the park with beautiful views of the lake. The inside was cosy with log burners in the corner, sweet looking tables and an open kitchen. The food wasn't the cheapest we had in Berlin but it was very tasty. I had a salami pizza with mushrooms for 9.50 euros and my partner... More

We went here to have a change from the restaurant in our nearby hotel. Chosen for its location and ambience, the food was disappointing and the menu limited. We opted for rotisserie chicken which was dry and tough. The waiter was ok but certainly not welcoming. I would still recommend this place for a family visit because of the location... More

We stayed at the Das Stue hotel round the corner and discovered this place by accident almost. Don't be put off by the front entrance...this place is a gem. For the weekend before Christmas, the woodburners were all lit, the candles were glowing and the whole place exuded warmth and welcome. We had two brunches and one dinner during our... More

We fancied a walk before breakfast on our last day in Berlin, a frosty December Saturday, so we set off through Tiergarten and stopped here for breakfast. Given the time of year, the boat hire was closed and there weren't many people around when we arrived at 10.30, but there was a family playing ice curling just outside the building.... More

This is a truly perfect experience the food is out of this world taste and presentation And to top it all the settings and Christmas decorations add a magical touch to it all Very reasonably priced which was surprising given the food richness and don't miss the kaiser desert it is mouth watering

We came here at Christmas time and this place was all stations to Christmas town - the cutlery came in tiny Christmas stockings, and there was live Christmas music. Friendly staff, and the breakfast platter was impressive. My wife loved the hot chocolate.

Came for lunch on recommendation by rough guide. Clearly wrong time of year as lack of beer available. Food was expensive for what we had although tasted reasonably.

With that title, no else will be surprised, but at least we were! Given the low rating among Berlin restaurants, we were expecting banal German cuisine. To our delight, we were impressed with the ambiance - charming - and the food - well balanced, although definitely traditional German fare. We ordered salads to start, which were well dressed. We shared... More

We stopped here for a drink as we wanted to have a go at the Bavarian curling. We tasted the stollen and had some wine and a beer. The toilets could have been maintained better. The member of staff sorted out a problem we had with the curling and I have to take my hat off to him for that... More

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
