One of the best spots for a summer night

This is a place where you can absolutely forget that you are in the middle of one of the most vibrant cities in the world. The beer garden at the little lake is beautiful and very romantic (if you can blend out the rest of the people). You have basically two choices (in summer that is): you can... read more

We ate here twice on our visit to Berlin in January 2016, once for breakfast and once for an evening meal. The restaurant was very cosy with both wood burning stoves blazing. The food on both occasions was very good - the breakfast special was huge! The only negative was that the menu is only In German so it took... More

Recommended by a friend we had breakfast here. The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced, the setting beside the lake was great. It was our first day in Berlin and we thought the prevalence of wasps was due only to the close proximity of a wasps' nest. After 4 days in Berlin we realised this was not the case,... More

The location is fabulous with a view on the lake. When we arrived there was ample space but the owner decided we had to wait some time and was rearranging the tables. After 10 minutes we got a spot at a long table, next to two elderly locals sitting next to each other. Later on this became akward because the... More

We were staying in the area and decided to go to brunch. We arrived and were queuing when two independent German couples (with no reservation) arrived and jumped the line, something the manager cared nothing about. They took the good tables and we were seated in a shared table next to each other (so I had to turned every time... More

Overall pretty decent. A huge breakfast for one (specific name I don't remember, shown on photo... Juice and coffee not included) for 12.50 I think. Good pizza! Good coffees! English menu... Every waiter spoke English, and understood English, which can be a bit harder to find. Location is amazing! Lovely but hot fireplace! The weather right now is a crazy... More

this cafe is so pretty, sitting on the edge of the lake in Tiergarden. It was snowing when we were there and with the log-burners and fairy lights on, it felt very festive. There were no English menus - you can get by - but I guess we've been spoiled by having multi-language ones elsewhere. The pizzas have a lovely... More

We stayed at the hotel Das Stue and used this very convenient cafe for breakfasts. We liked the atmosphere and location and chose to have one evening meal there. The wood burning stoves and rustic decor reminded us of a mountain lodge. The menu is not extensive but suited our needs well. The staff were friendly and helpful and the... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
