Nice spot, disappointing service

We came here for breakfast after a walk through the Tiergarten. It's pretty enough, with lots of birds chirping round, however the bacon and eggs were nothing to write home about and the service was agonisingly slow. We had to ask three times for the bill, which eventually came after 15 minutes... read more

It's pretty enough, with lots of birds chirping round, however the bacon and eggs were nothing to write home about and the service was agonisingly slow. I only had a free morning in Berlin, so wanted to have the best possible experience that I could find. Numerous searches all suggested breakfast at this incredible beer garden in the Tiergarten. First, the walk from the Brandenburg area was so nice, thru the park along the trails. I arrived just as the restaurant was opening for breakfast at... More

Having looked about the rear of the property on our first day in Berlin, we thought the setting would be lovely for a meal. The next evening we walked round and settled at a table outside (two tables away from smokers because of our daughter being with us), looking at the menus we picked up. No sooner had we sat... More

Great place to stop for a beer in Bavarian style biergarten after roaming the Tiergarten park or visiting the Siegessäule. I did not eat here so I cannot review the food, but my radler was good. Traditional biergarten food and drinks selection. The surroundings are beautiful, if the weather is nice you might want to stay and have a second... More

I had a BBQ dinner with a group of business associates in the tent of the restaurant and was surprised by the quality of food and service received. The meat, roasted sirloin, was delicious and very tender and the salad buffet excellent. The location in the middle of the 'Tiergarten' is a little heaven in the center of a fantastic... More

nice situation, good buzzy atmosphere with local Berliners messing about on the water, posing in the red, blue and green mock beach huts for two, and a great place to while away the afternoon or an evening meal on a budget whilst lit by the stars. Serves till 11 unless the dining room is quiet, in which case 10pm.

We visited twice once just for a drink and then again for lunch and drinks. We sat on the long beer garden type tables by the lake and not in the more upmarket part. It was lovely to sit and look out over the lake while drinking a cold beer. The food is not expensive and is a type of... More

This is a huge biergarten and popular meeting point. There is self-service and it's nice to stop in and hang for a while. It can be a bit impersonal and large but nice on a hot summer day

Beautiful location but terrible service I was there on April 9th and It took 17 minutes for the waiter to take our drink order, the Prosecco I order was flat, the food was good and nicely presented but then we waited almost 20 minutes again for the bill The bread box was open on a service table and birds were... Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
