Pleasant lunch sitting outside

After visiting the Reichstag in the morning and then walking through the Tiergarten we were hungry and the nearest place to eat was this café. As it was a lovely sunny day the outside seating area was busy but we were fortunate to find a table with shade. Within a few minutes someone came to... read more

We were looking for a Beer garden not far from our hotel, so we found Cafe am Neuen See (supposedly a beer garden). We were pretty disappointed with the place... No one was sitting outside, the ambiance was pretty dead and staff weren't happy that we only ordered a beer (they wanted us to eat there). The beer was good,... More

We thought we found a tpyical nice 'biergarten'. But wie were very disappointed. You must probably present a reservation or follow some Kind of dress-code to get a place, even this area with waiter service was real empty. The self-service area seemed very unorganized. The prices are quite high, Specialist for offered dishes. Service was not too well trained. Never... More

...pink fir apple potatoes and a terrific Munich wheat beer ( Schofferhoffer on draught). In fact this was the best meal I had during a week's stay and slightly at variance with the so-so reviews on TA. Pleasant location in the Tiergarten, a convenient stroll from the Zoo transport hub. Only slightly pricier than average; on the basis of my... More

We came here with a group of people after a short walk in the Tiergarten. The vegetable soup was excellent, as well as the main dish. Service was a little unattentive, I had the impression that the place would benefit from more waiters. Bier variety was a bit small, otherwise we enjoyed the time spent there.

What is better than sitting in the middle of a beautiful park beside a pretty lake and having a drink or ordering some food? This is a lovely setting with good food and service. Very large outdoor and indoor seating areas.

We visited this beer garden with some local friends for dinner and it was very busy. They serve pizza and some traditional German food. We had sauerkraut, potato salad and some pretzel as our sides for ham (tasted like spam). Unfortunately not as good as ham we have had elsewhere and the pretzel was nice but really salty.

We visited the cafe in the middle of the Tiergarten for breakfast with our 5 month old son. The cafe is large and spacious and although we couldnt sit outside as it was raining, the inside is still very quirky and interesting. Service was very good although I would have preferred to sit in the lighter conservatory part of the... More

I took my 2 grandsons to this café. Although the place was packed on a weekday evening and you had to serve yourself, the food. place and beer were all enjoyable. Next time we will go earlier for a seat next to the lake. The highlight was the walk through the park back to the hotel - what a magnificent... More

We visited this restaurant on 8th of July with our 5mo son. The restaurant is spacious, hidden in the trees, far away from the noise of the busy streets of Berlin. We ordered salad and a burger. Portions are medium size with very good taste. We drunk delicious rhubarb lemonade and weisbeer. We loved our lunch. The only minus we... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
