Good restaurant, pretty location

Slightly off the beaten track, near the Zoo and set amidst trees and next to a lake, we were recommended here by our concierge when we asked for a good, non-touristy restaurant. We found the cafe by accident and were pleased that we did. On a lovely morning we had a sizeable breakfast overlooking the lake...heaven!

This café is close to the Neuen See boating lake and the zoo. It's a good place to go for a drink or for good shape basics like pizza. There are roaring wood fires for when it's cold, and a large outside area for when it's warm. There's a good selection of beers and wines, and it's considerably cheaper than... More

We had a great brunch here recently, helped along by a window seat and a bright crisp afternoon - very scenic, we shared a 2 person breakfast platter, cheeses, sausage, salami, salad, fruit, porridge, muesli - tasted great, well priced and I can only imagine its better in the summer and in the evenings. Recommend to all.

I was recommended this place by a friend and I'm glad I visited. The interior is very homely with log burning fires, the view of the lake and park is very pleasant and the food is good. I had a pizza which was very large and cooked perfectly. My Mum had a salad which was slightly less value as it... More

This place has so much potential, located in the park with beautiful views of the lake. The inside was cosy with log burners in the corner, sweet looking tables and an open kitchen. The food wasn't the cheapest we had in Berlin but it was very tasty. I had a salami pizza with mushrooms for 9.50 euros and my partner... More

We went here to have a change from the restaurant in our nearby hotel. Chosen for its location and ambience, the food was disappointing and the menu limited. We opted for rotisserie chicken which was dry and tough. The waiter was ok but certainly not welcoming. I would still recommend this place for a family visit because of the location... More

We stayed at the Das Stue hotel round the corner and discovered this place by accident almost. Don't be put off by the front entrance...this place is a gem. For the weekend before Christmas, the woodburners were all lit, the candles were glowing and the whole place exuded warmth and welcome. We had two brunches and one dinner during our... More

We fancied a walk before breakfast on our last day in Berlin, a frosty December Saturday, so we set off through Tiergarten and stopped here for breakfast. Given the time of year, the boat hire was closed and there weren't many people around when we arrived at 10.30, but there was a family playing ice curling just outside the building.... More

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
