Honest Italian Food

I am not a food/restaurant reviewer, just a foodie who is eating out 3 times/week in different cities, so who am I to judge. Was here first time in 2008. Went here tonight and they served honest Italian food. The wine recommendation fitted excellent with both the meal and the budget. Service was... read more

The veal ravioli with Parma ham and Parmesan mousse and the scallops appetizer were amazing! Great service, nice ambiance, and wonderful food.

An absolutely beautiful restuarant architecturally from the outside and quiet lovely on the inside, cosmetically. An amazing glass fronted wine room situated at the back, quite eloquently laid out, with funky bulbs hanging in front of a cool 12 seater table. I had considered booking this for some friends... But wouldn't now! The food was good, and prices that you... More

Our one posh night out while in Berlin. We were seated pretty quickly as walk ups but we didn't get given a drinks menu until 10minutes in and I had to ask for it. Our food arrived before our drinks and for a near 70euro meal total there wasn't a lot to show for it. I personally felt ignored and... More

The restaurant was very close to Clipper City Home Apartments -- highly recommended -- where we stayed. Yelp said the attire here was "casual" but this place was on the fancy side, as were the prices. Recommended but not for the budget traveler.

As this restaurant was close from our hotel (Westin Grand) and looked modern and elegant, we decided to try. It was Friday night and the place was getting busier when we got there. The waiter spoke so fast and was rushing around, which made us feel unrelaxed. We ordered pasta as the second course as a few reviews praised it.... More

For buiness purpose, I was invited for a dinner here with our German partners. Scampi crudi soup was fantastic! and steak was reasonable. Actually we had an opportunity to see a number of German celebrities including one German actor currently is filming in Holywood (I did not recognize him but our partners did excite)

I have eaten at Bocca di Bacco many times before, and I would always have rated them as "excellent". Service, location and ambiance are excellent. So I was looking forward to my next trip to Berlin - my first dinner would be spent at Bocca di Bacco, And probably at least one or to lunches or dinners after that. The... More

Dinner. As most of the italian restaurants, lack of imagination. Boring and very expensive. When have a look to the wine offer, average price is 50 € per bottle, same for a regular Chile or South African wines.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
