Pricey but very good restaurant in the Swissotel

I used to come here when I stayed in the Swissotel in Berlin. Having not stayed in the hotel for a while I'd kind of forgotten the place, but walking past one day on holiday I remembered it again and went in. This was late afternoon / early evening, and not so busy at the time. The service is... read more

Great service, great vine and excellent food! We really enjoyed our visit at Restaurant 44, went there for dinner. Try the beef tartar or the sliced veal in mushroom sauce, it's delicious. We had a Singerriedel Smaragd Riesling 2008 for the starters, I can definitely recommend that. The prices was reasonable compared to the great experience.

When we arrived the Gerant was not aware of our reservation but found us a table. The table was awkward for four people and in a corner. After we raised this to him he found us another table when everyone else was seated. He also informed us there was only the Sylvester menu, no price was mentioned. We were shocked... More

We were here with our Polish, German and Luxemburgish colleagues for a company dinner where we wanted to introduce them into Swiss food. What is more logical than going for a cheese fondue? But in brief it was just a horror! We've received an unprepaired flashy mass of industry cheese in a pot. No garlick, no white wine, no cherry... More

It has been my first time eating chestnut soup. Sweet chestnuts sunk in spicy cream were just perfect. Then I had another classic Swiss meal - a salad with Swiss sausage. It looked and tasted fantastic - these were hin stripe-cuts of sausauge, cheese, cornichons and red onion. All subtly dressed. If you add very friendly and easy going waiter... More

I just can recomment this place to everybody which wants to have a romantic dinner at a special place. First, the staff is super friendly and put a lot of attention towards the guests; very pro-active, quick and again super friendly. I made my reservation via phone and explained that I would like to get a nice table outside and... More

We had business lunch (15 Eur per person) and were really impressed by the quality and amount of food we got - starter, main, tea, water. Everything was perfect, we will definitely be back at some point.

My husband and I had dinner here last night. The staff are very helpful and service was excellent. We both had the smoked salmon starter followed by the St. Pierre. Both were well-presented and had interesting flavors. Wine list is predominantly German, with limited whites, but the Riesling that we had was very good. Would definitely return.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
