The " tarte flambée " is a super thin crusted pizza like meal, but far more delicious. It was thin, crispy and a real treat with olives and feta cheese. Their " gemischte salad " also had a great marinade and was a perfect compliment to the Tarte!

Stopped here for some lunch and ate outside whilst it was good weather. We had 2 types of quiche (bacon and onion / goatcheese and tomato) both were very tasty and even the small salad that came with them was enjoyable and not the usual bit of salad. Service was good and reasonable price!

Found this restaurant on Tripadvisor and booked due to very good reviews. A warm welcome awaits you on arrival by staff who appear genuinely interested in you enjoying your dining experience here. Suggestions and advice is offered by young but very competent staff. Be advised that the Chef is French so you may need to consider your cooking requirement if... More

Having booked a short visit to Berlin came across this nice and cosy French Restaurant/Cafe. Really nice place with pleasant staff and good service. Soup as a starter and the steak, done medium, just right with nice vegetables and a bottle of red wine. Enjoyed evening.

On the first day of a recent visit to Berlin, we decided to have a 'lazy lunch' .. not so much a heavy lunch but a slow lunch with a bottle of wine and some lunch-sized tasty dishes. This restaurant cafe did not disappoint with Merguez sausages and Tarte Rustique making appearances alongside some perfectly chilled Chablis. The sun was... More

This little French bistro is at Rosenthaler Platz. Easy to reach by tram M8, M12, and Ubahn. We lived at Gorki Apartments just across the street (see our Gorki review) and saw that this place was popular with the locals, so we booked a table for the next night. We were not disappointed! The soups, salads, sides and mains were... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
