Great vegetarian only Vietnamese restaurant

I didn't realise it when I chose to eat there, that everything on the menu is vegetarian - what a score! They have a large selection of starters, mains, soups, and hot dishes to choose from as well as some wonderful homemade and traditional teas. We shared some spring rolls and a pancake and... read more

This is my favorite (affordable) restaurant in Berlin. When you get there you may be disappointed and sceptical. The place looks like one of those mass procesing, glutamat-heavy tourist traps so common around toursistic areas in Berlin. In reality it's actually a place where you get what I imagine to be something very close to what you might get in... More

I like it if a restaurant offers you "mixed platters" to get the chance to try a few things. We chose the 2nd option and that was pretty delicious. For the main course I chose one of the 2 recommendations of the house (duck or fish). I went for the fish which then came in a sizzling pan and tasted... More

The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. Excellent food at really low prices. Would definitely revisit if returning to Berlin.

This is such a nice restaurant that you should even consider coming here from a longer distance. Food is excellent (especially the soups) and the staff is really helpful and nice. Start your evening here and move on to the clubs not far away.

This is an unexpectedly good Vietnamese restaurant, providing exceptional food for a ridiculously low price. Don't be put off by the rather uninviting, too large property: the food you will have there justifies everything. The quality of their food in combination with their super low prices is unbeatable.

We ate at New Day twice while in Berlin and on both occassions the food and the service was fantastic. We preferred eating outside as the restaurant's piped music was slightly intrusive but otherwise the restaurant comes highly recommended.

Try not to be distracted by the interior too much. The food is great, quickly served an the staff is very friendly. I enjoyed chicken with mango sauce. Was a bit more sharp than expected, but nevertheless really tasty!

To start let me say that the food in New Day was very good, but it is certainly not the 7th best restaurant in Berlin. We had dinner in New Day this evening. We took the surprise menu (not sure how the exact name was) which consisted of one soup, two dishes (one with chicken and one with beef) and... More

We enjoyed two vegetarian dishes sitting outside watching people walking by on a warm spring night. The food selection is large and the quality is very good. You get plenty and thus will be satisfied without getting the heavy feeling after eating too much. Prices are reasonable and service was very friendly.

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
