Amazing crepes!

My boyfriend and I fancied a crepe at around 10pm but we also wanted another beer. I googled creperies in Berlin and low on the list came, 'La Bigoudene.' This quiet sleepy café looking out on the Zionskirchstrasse is simply perfect. The most amazing crepes, from sweet to savoury, chocolate and banana to 4 cheeses. They serve honey here which is made at the church, beehives can be seen in-between pillars if you look up. Menus are available in French, English and German. I would recommend the duck salad... Visited Friday evening in a group of ten, and enjoyed a variety of galettes, crepes and salads. Good food, excellent real Breton cider, very reasonably priced and pleasant ambience. Service could have been more attentive, which would have earned the full five star rating.

French food, French wait staff, Berlin background. In a quiet back street lies a wonderful Restaurant. Under the shade of the trees on a warm summers night local families tucking into oh so tasty fare. A must eat at place, again and again.

Stopped by for lunch, ended up with two breakfast plates where we exchanged the bread for galettes...and were so delightfully surprised by these savory pancakes! Not to mention the very friendly and helpful waitress who was a host of the perfect kind, and made us feel right at home there on the sidewalk :-) The breakfast plates were filled with... More

Went there twice during my month in Berlin. It's a cute, atmospheric place, in the lower level, although there are a couple of tables outside, facing the Zionkirche. I had 2 different kinds of galettes for my main course: each of them absolutely delicious. Also had a dessert crepe with ice cream and salted carmel sauce. The waitress was so... More

This nice place in Pranzlauerberg is a french crêperie where you can enjoy salty and sucred crêpes as well. They propose different types of crêpe with mushrooms, ham, cheese, salmon eggs, fresh salad. I was impressed as well for the big selection of french cidre, I enjoyed my cranberry cidre from Bretagne region. The staff is German and French speaker... More

I went there with a Bretone and food addict and he was speechless. Galette and Crepes are exactly as they have to be he told me. Besides that, Restaurant is located at Zionskirchplatz, a very charming and romantic place. I can highly recommend La Bigoudene and have been there already several times.

I went their with a friend from Bretagne who is extremely picky when it comes to food, in particular with food from Bretagne. And to make a long story short: He was speechlees as the Galette was exactly as it has to be, at least from his perspective. Besides that: La Bigoudene is a very charming little restaurant located at... More

We often go for dinner (or breakfast) at la Bigoudene. The food is always tasty and fresh and the staff is friendly and chilled. Besides the crepes, try also one of the wonderful salads or the daily soup! Totally recommend!

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
