Good spot for breakfast

Had a really pleasant breakfast here with the family, which was nicely presented and ample. Staff were very friendly and quality of food was high.

I had the Eckstein Burger and a beer. The meat patty seemed industrial, the "knusprige" salad mentioned jn the menue was two lettuce leaves and a slice of tomato on the burger. The sweet potato fries were good. Mc Donalds make better and cheaper burgers. The service was slow and not very friendly. When I paid, the waiter mentioned, as... More

Good choice of breakfast options, with outdoor seating, weather permitting. Busy on a sunny Saturday morning, handy for the market in Winterfeld platz if you prefer to sit at a table rather than by snacks in the market. Good but not exceptionally so. Fair prices.

Eckstein is a nice and not too fancy German-international restaurant. Their menu includes classics, local and some interesting meals. Not very extensive but wide-ranging. They serve several Flammkuchen, famous Alsatian specialty. Very well recommendable. Can look kind of plain, but it fills your appetite with quality and quantity. Atmosphere in Eckstein is relaxed. The head waiter (?), Claudio, can be... More

The place was close to the hotel and as we were looking just for coffee and dessert we decided to give it a try. The place has a nice vibe and the waiter was very friendly and helpful but the food was lackluster. The cake I had was on the dry side and my husband was not impressed with the... More

My husband recently ate at Eckstein during our visit to Berlin in September. The service was very friendly and welcoming, and our food was delicious. We would have returned to Eckstein if we had spent more time in Berlin.

The curry wurst and sauerkraut were excellent and the tomato sauce was superb. A very friendly restaurant with good service and an extensive menu. Also in a good position to sit outside and watch the world go by.

Eckstein is (as the name connotes) a lovely corner restaurant with character and charm. The service was good and the food tasty.

This cafe offers different types of breakfasts, based on the country (city). I had a berlin breakfast, which was tasty. Staff is sufficient and very welcoming. I would definitely come back her for a breakfast when I am next time around in Berlin.

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
