Nice atmosphere, good beer and food

We stayed as a big gruop, about 22 person. The waiter wasn't that friendly but we got our food and beer in time. Atmosphere is great, you feel in a festival. However, if you are looking for calm place to eat this is not your place, since it is noisy and so big. Tables are so clise to each other,... read more

the Hoffbrau Berlin is like a tiny taste of Oktoberfest. It's a big place with communal tables and benches seating. All the staff were really friendly and fast which is great when you're waiting for a beer. I advise pre-booking seats which you can do online as even in the middle of December it was fairly busy. The weiss bier... More

Came back to this place for my second time. First time was during summer so had the chance to enjoy a lovely beer garden that belongs to the Hofbrau and now during winter too so this time we were sitting inside. Excellent food, well served, great beer and very pleasent service. Will come again for sure one day.

Hofbrau Munchen is a typical German beer restaurant. It is loudly, good food an lots and lots of happy guests drinking beer in very big glasses. The service is perfect. Hofbrau Munchen is located at Alexander Platz and is easy to reach

We popped in here after visiting the Christmas markets. The waiter was excellent and made us feel very welcome. The live music was... Bavarian. They say never eat anything larger than your head - in which case maybe this is not great. The food and the litres of beer are both huge. The pork knuckle was insanely good, the roast... More

We enjoyed a really good evening here. The steins were good value - had the Weiss Beer really good value at about €7 for a litre. Had a few and a few more. The crispy Port Knuckle was really tasty and filling - loved it. The band was good and it was a fun evening, nice friendly atmosphere and good service... More

The atmosphere inside the restaurant was really amazing, I'm not sure if this is only the case because of the Christmas and festive season but the band that played the music was very lively and fun. Food was amazing, I ordered the potato soup and the crispy Pork knuckle whilst my brother ordered the traditional Vienna Schnitzel and they were... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
