Best coffee

This place was an excellent find and we had a great brunch here. The waitress was friendly and welcoming and we sat and had brunch with a great view of the church. The coffee I had was the best one that I had during my stay. Would highly recommend a visit!

I read all the nice reviews and suggested to my friends that we would eat the breakfast here as it was pretty close to our hotel. A BIG mistake. Yes, we were group of seven and the place is small but there are seats for approx. 20-25 people so it´s not that we occupied the whole place. We were not... More

We have tried a lot of Berlin cafes over the last two months but Antipodes is our favourite. Everyone gets a warm welcome, and the service is fantastic throughout your stay. Every drink and meal has been wonderful, and the hot lemon ginger honey drink is a great winter pick me up. Best of all, good coffee, well brewed and... More

This is a cool little space that makes good coffee, nice breakfast and homemade cookies. The service is very friendly and it seems like a place where both locals and tourists that are in the know hang out.

We headed here for breakfast as it was around the corner from the hostel. The ladies serving us were happy and positive, just what you want in the morning to go with a coffee! The breakfast I had had the largest amount of avocado I've ever had in a meal. Most places are stingy with avocado but they didn't hold... More

I just poked my head in the door with my dog to see if she was allowed to come in because there was no sign on the door and was immediately yelled at by two staff, one of whom appeared to be the cook-owner. My family (3 children) were already inside at a table enjoying some hot chocolate. A shame... More

I stumbled upon this little breakfast joint while I was staying in Berlin. The staff is friendly and the coffee is just as great! Try the Long Black Coffee (almost like an Americano but with the crema intacted!). Food was also enjoyable.

This cafe was really cute and artsy. Our breakfast was amazing, lots of healthy options. The place was very busy and we did have to wait a little bit for our breakfast to be served but it was worth it.

At last, I've found beautiful coffee....BUT I'm only in Berlin for a week! I've travelled through Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Italy and France these last four months and it wasn't till this morning, when I saw and ventured into Antipodes that it happened....a beautiful flat white....smooth as, gorgeous coffee. And the food was like you'd find in Australia or New Zealand....varied,... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
