Lovely taste of home

The tea was good, the bangers were wonderful, the chips were fresh and very tasty, and the cheese sandwich was massive. What's not to like? The ambience is bit bland, so don't expect much in the way of pub clutter, but otherwise this is a fine way to get a good meal in Berlin, since, as the... read more

Nice & clean place, speedy service, fine food. Highly recommended. Full breakfast set is about €15. Located in a red building, close to metro station.

(yes, more than an hour) and for a soup which was too salty. Still waiting for our fish and chips. This is ridiculous.

All is authentic. Tea, real scones, cream brought from the UK, fish and chips, boiled potatoes, etc. Good price though. And very good and sober service.

We were bimbling around this area and found this brillant pub/bar/restaurant and noticed bottled real ales through the window. Went in and place was buzzing, got bottle of FULLERS real ale which was fantastic and as the name says, all things in here what you would see back in U.K. H .P sauce ,,real ales ETC,ETC can even have a Sunday roast.... The place itself is nice, good food and drinks although not as great as one might hope for considering the prices which are more on the high side for Berlin. We were drawn by the quiz night but it turned out to be rather average, we were seated at the back and could barely hear the questions, and we just... More

The first time I was there I had the roast dinner and really liked it. I was back this week to try it again, ordered the burger and was really disappointed. It tasted dry and a bit industrial. Not what I would expect for round about 10 EUR (with potato chips). Otherwise service is great and the place is a... More

The best breakfast, when you after one day full of driving, and ahead of another one. Nice atmosphere, wi-fi, everything you might need in the morning.

The most boring fish and chips I've had in my life, no taste and overpriced (€10+). Got a wifi password to a wifi that did not exist (it was not hidden). Great service but I certainly won't be coming back.

One can say that this restaurant keeps up with British tradition --the tradition now happily disappearing in the UK itself of poor food an atrocious cooking. There are a number of places likes this in Kreuzberg, where a group seem to get together to carry out a fun idea, but with little skill in the follow through. In several visits,... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
