But pretty basic setting under a railway arch. Served on a paper plate tidy up yourself. That said each was cooked freshly and as I said in the title were yummy to eat!

I went today as I had read a lot of great reviews about this place. At the begging I was kind of lost with the menu because and couldn't understand the differences between options. So, I asked to one of the cooks and he immediately stopped what he was doing to help me, and although his english wasn't really good,... More

The schnitzel was amazing. Nice salad with it and great fries. The price was an outrageously low 5.50 euro easily making it one of the coolest and best places to eat in Berlin. Not fine dining though - more of a cultural experience.

Wow, this place was amazing. It was cheap and delicious. For what you pay I would give it 5 stars but I cannot since it is rated against everything else. Really amazing and I will frequent this place many times on my visit to Berlin. What a cheap lovely treat. Thanks for my first amazing meal

Went there while visiting Berlin with my girlfriend. We got 2 schnitzels one with home made potato salad (warm) and one with fries. All served with a side salad dressed with vinaigrette. Really great lunch option with great schnitzels! It's a great place to eat while visiting east side gallery.

Came here with my husband on a Friday around 6 pm. The reviews are right. This place is so cheap and so delicious. I mean, you could go to Borchardt and get their famous schnitzel, but why would you when this place is so cheap? I got the Holzfäller schnitzel, which came with mushrooms and fresh lemon juice on top.... More

Came here upon a recommendation from a friend. It's located just over the road from the east side gallery. I had the standard schnitzel, chips and salad - for €5.50 a real bargain and very fresh, crisp and tasty. You order up at the counter, and eat of paper plates but you're not paying for service. Great place, would definitely... More

I have been here a couple of times since being in Berlin. It's really good! The fries are always fresh and the shnitchel is always crispy. Cheap beers and great big tables to socialise on

Just like it should be - very, very good - simple food in very good quality and good price. We took standard schtzel and wiener one both were amazing.

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
