Asian tapas buzz

How glad I am we have discovered this unique place. Is it trendy? Yes. Is it packed? Yes. Is the food good? Yes. Is the staff nice? I don't know, some people complain but we were lucky enough to experience nice service. And we were sitting next to the open kitchen so we could enjoy the buzz. There... read more

I have eaten at Transit on several occasions and have always loved it. I prefer this restaurant to the one at the Rosenthalerstrasse, this one's cosier and staff are kinder. Please don't go to Vapiano's or any other large chain restaurant, but go to Transit. Just as fast and a lot more fun and atmosphere. At Transit, you design your... More

Happy with the food and the ambiance-- good but certainly not authentic SE Asian. Service needs major improvements-- no answer at all when I asked for dish recommendations, would not even tell me what were the most .popular dishes. When I paid the check-- not only was the change wrong( yup -- shortchanged) but outrageous at number of tiny coins.... More

A visit to Berlin is not complete without a dinner at this restaurant. The food is delicious and consists of many small and tasty dishes which are very appealing. The restaurant is popular and tables should be reserved in advance.

I'm a regular at this location and have been to the other Transit in Berlin Mitte as well as in some of their other restaurant. I like the Asian tapas concept, sharing the small dishes (€3 each) is highly recommended. Most of the food is really good, even though it got pretty touristy and crowded lately, so quality is not... There are not too any restaurants that cater to Celiacs in Berlin, but I was very happy to find one! I was offered a gluten free menu, with lots of choices! My husband and I ordered six delicious small meals, at €3 each, and had ample food for our dinner. I loved all the sauces, some spicy, which I love,... More

I have been here for lunch in september. It's 5 minutes walk from subway Ostkreuz. They have a few tables outside, but inside is very nice too. Modern design interior and friendly staff. They offer small dishes of 3 euro each. So you can try different ones. 2 or 3 per person is enough for a medium lunch. More hungry?... More

We had lunch there with the many small dishes. Sharing is a must and please do not hesitate to take many at the time. At 3euro per dish have a feast!

We tried 8 of the tapas-style Thai dishes and all were absolutely delicious. Really genuine. The restaurant has a cosy setting, and the staff was very friendly, welcoming and attentive. I would definitely go back.

Went there and was surprised, how good the menu and the food was. A bottle of water is 6 euros though, more than my dish. Way overrated. When i paid, i didn't get my change and the waitress just walked of. Food was good but dont buy the water and expect to tip.

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
