Despite being a bit of a walk from our hotel, it was worth the hike. It was very hard to find any vegan restaurants in Berlin but this place had great food and great ambiance. We ordered the spaghetti and lentil soup which was super tasty. The staff were a little slow in serving us but it was probably because... More

The location is very simple, but the food is great! It's a perfect place for a quiet dinner. We particularly enjoyed the vegan gyros. Service is fast and very very nice. Definitely worth a trip!

We decided to try Viasko during our recent trip to Berlin after reading the positive reviews on Trip Advisor. The restaurant was around a 30 minute walk from our hotel. As we walked, it became apparent that the restaurant was not in the best area, with graffiti on almost every building. When we reached the restaurant, it more than made... More

Viasko is a mid priced vegan restaurant. I mostly serves vegan recreations of omnivoric meals - with all good and bad aspects. Food is excellent, except: Dont take Flammkuchen, its dry. And the Tzaziki has nothing common with real tzaziki then the white color. Everything else: perfect!

We found Viasko on TA and although none of our group are vegetarian we thought we'd give it a go based on the positive reviews. I'd suggest booking a table if you are looking to get a table at the weekend but we were lucky enough to grab one on the day. We went for the brunch buffet and were... More

Absolutely fantastic little haven of actually interesting vegan food. Good price for the amount you can eat, super laid back and with a great outside seating area. Definitely recommend....though Früschtuck maybe more than you want to spend if one a super budget trip.

Went here with a couple of friends for a brunch on Saturday. On the phone they said we couldn't reserve a place, but should just try and show up. We arrived around 1PM and indeed there were a couple of free spots outside, as well as lots of places inside. The buffet was incredible, with a large variety of interesting... More

As vegans in Berlin, it seems like we are spoilt for choice here! But it was actually quite hard to find somewhere for a family dinner, striking a happy medium between veggie take out/fast food and fine dining.. until we found Viasko which fit the bill perfectly! In an old pub, it had a relaxed yet refined feel, and whilst... More

I returned to this place with great expectations after having a great meal there about a year ago. Unfortunately things have changed. From a great restaurant it has been converted in a place only to meet and have a beer. Food offer although not bad is very limited. Sorry, the good old times are apparently gone.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
