Nothing too special

Walking in to meet alot of people already seated. We where told to pick any table. Once seated we where giving a breakfast menu at 3 pm which is a little weird but we ordered. I took n-10 which was good but nothing special the eggs had no flavor but the beans and sausage where good. My girlfriend... read more

Best vegetarian restaurant in berlin! (find out that chef has a michelin star background) Was here several times for dinner the quality and intensity getting better and better after each visit. The vegetable sauces/jus are mind-blowing! We usually go there in a group of work mates so we can try and share more. Everything is seasoned well & cooked on... More

Went there for a late breakfast, it was great. Had a hard time choosing what to have, some much choice, good thing for non meat eaters, you can choose your bacon and sausages to be meat or vegan. I ended up having the Lumber Jack: French toasts, scramble eggs and bacon, comes with maple syrup but I had without. French... More

Absolutely delightful. Food was imaginative, delicious, well presented. And I'm planning on returning tomorrow. Very very pleased. New Scandinavian waitress on her first day at the restaurant was lovely.

We decided to come here after reading the TripAdvisor recommendations. The restaurant is only a ten minute walk from our hotel and was a welcoming sight on a cold and wet night. The atmosphere is very relaxed, candle-lit, the staff attentive and took time to explain the dishes and ingredients on the menu. As everything is vegan or vegetarian we... More

We had breakfast - the waffles were beautifully light and crisp - I haven't had such great waffles in a long time! Service was unobtrusive but good and the ambiance was really relaxing. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Berlin, especially those who might need somewhere quiet to deal with their hangovers. Prices were reasonable too.

This place has a beautiful but relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious, tasty salad and a really good hummus with poached eggs, which I had never liked before. Very good freshly squeezed juices too. You should try it!

Myself and my boyfriend recently visited chipps for breakfast after reading about it in the eyewitness guide to Berlin- what a great reccommendation! I had the 'lumberjack' which was delicious- best bacon I've had cooked to perfection, and my boyfriend had the 'bed head' or eggs benedict which he said was the best he'd ever had! Only wish we were... More

Quirky service, good value & excellent options for vegetarians. Breakfast served till 5pm is always going to be a winner for me. The green horn and Vegan breakfast were both tasty. Probably advisable to book ahead as it was busy.

Supposedly the best breakfast in Berlin, but I felt it was only slightly better than average and only average when you factor in the price. Our breakfasts were both pleasant but somewhat spoiled by a side salad with a heavy vinaigrette which mixed with the rest of the dish. The homemade ice tea had a strong taste of herbs and... More

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
