Great meal served by a slightly confused waiter despite few guests. Great tasting sashimi with three sauces, miso, ponzu and classic soy. Amazing raw dorade with skin, slightly undersalted edamame. Nice sushi chef who didn't mind answering on cooking techniques, etc :)

Been to most sushi places in East Berlin and Gingi is still the best. We go here at least once every 2 months. Small shop, Turkish owner/chef who trained in Japan. Make sure to order the Izakaya menu.

I love this place. The food is just excellent! But every time when I there, I'm very sad to see that the service is getting worse and worse. I mean, waiting for the order for 20 minutes is a very long time (it's not such a big place). About how long to wait for the bill, I do not want... More

We had a delicious and good value (by London standards) meal out on the street on a warm evening at this special little place. Service was slow - but that's no surprise given it was busy and there are only a few staff (who were very apologetic about the slow service). A treat.

Good sushi; however I think it is over-rated and over-priced. The outside sitting is very good, the street the restaurant is on is very cute so it is good to relax and enjoy your time. The waiters do not know English, they try to help as much as they can but it is hard to communicate. Although they say that... More

I got really excited to try that sushi place after reading reviews. I got disappointed: 1. Menu is not detailled enough, only the name is mentioned and most of the time you can't guess what you will get if you are not fan of Japanese food, 2. Service was way too slow. We had a dish every 20min. I would... More

This small restaurant is very cosy, with delightful service and delicious food. We booked with a friend a table in advance and it was waiting for us as promised. I don't like sushi very much but those sushi were the best for me so far. The desserts are also worth to try - sesam ice-cream or matcha mousse were just... More

This tiny but cosy japanese restaurant serves delicious japanese izakaya (tapas) in an authentic atmosphere with extremely friendly service and a raw fish to die for. Although Gingi is not cheap and the portions are rather small the quality of the food is amazing and it is seasoned very subtle but perfectly balanced. I love asian food so i have... More
