Spätzle ftw

Like little noodle-dumplings from potato and flour with creamy cheese sauce and crispy fried onion. And, surprisingly, a side of salad, which was also very tasty. But, the spätzle were the main event on my dinner plate and it was the best I tasted. Otherwise: nice venue with a mixed crowd (babies... read more

If you are in Berlin, you need to eat and drink in this restaurant. The pork knuckle dish is top class!

Visited twice whilst staying for a week in Berlin. The atmosphere was fabulous, busy enough but not too noisy. Great food and plentiful portions. The pork knuckle tasted amazing (I snuck a bit of my boyfriend's) and the currywurst and fries were delicious too. We also tried sausages and mash (easier than writing the german terms) which were also tasty.... More

Super restaurant with excellent Bavarian menu and good drink. Great atmosphere and service and good value too in a classic environment.

Not very special. Kind staff but a little bit overpriced food due to the central location. We had a good meal.

Seems like a good traditional restaurant with good german food but we ended up not eating there because the food was not suitable for our kids. If you are without kids I highly recommend you to go to that restaurant.

For anyone who is a fan of Augstiner's beers, this is a must do in Berlin. The food and beer is excellent and the restaurant and staff accurately replicate the feel of a Bavarian beer hall.

went here for lunch as it was near the hotel we stayed at. the waiter that served us couldn't have been more proud of himself to be speaking English and be able to be condescending at the same time to the very people that pay his wage. And we were not the only ones; everyone was getting it. Actually the... More

Whether your heart desires wienerschnitzel or poor knuckle this place will make sure that you leave with a full belly and probably still some leftovers on the plate! The food is decent and the price is not too bad for the area!!

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
