Tasty and great value

Busy place but plenty of room and no need to make a reservation -we went on a Friday evening and they seated us straight away. Big portions of tasty food, pork knuckle highly recommended. Staff were friendly and the place had a nice atmosphere

Not even if you are starving. Just returned from there today Feb06. A beautiful place in a nice neighbourhood which is totally destroyed by a member of the staff. Name: RONY. We were nicely welcomed by a blonde maitre who seated us on the upper floor. That and our food was the nice part. 30' to order while rony was... More

We booked a table in this traditional German restaurant as a recommendation from the hotel's concierge, and it did not disappoint at all! I was looking forward to eat a proper Wiener schnitzel and it was absolutely delicious as well as the potato salad it came with! The atmosphere was lovely too, I wanted to go back there again, but... Typical Bavarian-style pub with food matching the location. Prices are reasonable. Waiters attentiveness is average. Prices are just acceptable for the location.

I had an excellent waiter who was very attentive and friendly. The beer was very good, the very expensive schnitzel was average and clearly pre prepped and just reheated. There is a wonderful buzzy atmosphere in the restaurant but is clearly a well oiled tourist eatery where quality really doesn't matter. I would go back though.

I am a Berliner (It wont allow me write it in a second language ;))! Eating here is like a massive bite of German culture. Massive plates of meat and Sourkraut, washed down with litres of local beer. Service and value was excellent. A must, while visiting Berlin. While you can walk in and get a table, I would recommend... More

I went there with a mate back in october. We couldn't get a table so we sat by the bar and had beer and pretzels. The beers were so big, so after about three is where my memory gets fogy, but we had a go pro running the whole time and it looks like we had a lot of fun,... More

We had a duck and lamb dish, and both were great. The beer was also great. Big portions. Al fresco on an Oct evening with beer was a most satisfying combination. Waiting time was a little long though.

Stumbled across this place after heading to another highly rated trip advisor restaurant and being unimpressed by the menu. Great service, we were seated immediately although being a busy Friday night. The food was varied German fare, delicious, very reasonably priced and to top it off had a great atmosphere.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
