Worth the price

Really friendly service and nice starters. We paid 50€ for a bottle of wine, water, two starters and two small dishes. Definately worth it! They have lots of choices and everything was really tasty.

GREAT restaurant in the Kreuzberg neighborhood. Best to make a reservation. Large menu. A bit of a language barrier with our waitress, sorted out by a more seasoned waitress. We all enjoyed our entrees and I was able to eat GF in this restaurant. We would MOST DEFINITELY return when in Berlin.

We ordered a curry and green papaya salad for take away. Staff was friendly and service was quick. Food was tasty and spice level is adjustable but we like spicy and it achieved this!

I had a soup and the mixed starters. The soup was ok. The starters comprised three deep fried dishes (which was not clear from the menu) plus steamed pork in banana leaves. Not a very attractive composition anyway. The pork was not of good quality, and all items were pretty oily. The deep fried tarot root was so stale I... More

its ok, but in the end you get the same quality of food at Pagoda. However the restaurant is nice to sit in and the lunches are good. Nothing special but it makes you feel good afterwards which is why this place is a strong 3 + Very friendly staff.

Good and varied menu. We have tried most of the dishes on the menu and it has all been very good. The waiter Pom is always very smiling and friendly. The restaurant is not too big, so staff has good time to take care of every body. Good for 'every day' but certainly also if there is a celebration to... More

Just after ordering food we found out that our only wallet was lost, happily the owner made sure we could eat by making an arrangement for the day after. Still unbiased I can say that the quality of the food matches the friendliness of the staff. We ordered Neur pad num which is not on the menu and it came... More

Sarod's pretty awesome! The mixed entrés are delicious and after a few times there... I still haven't found anything on the menu I didn't like. A bit pricy for Berlin, but the quality is worth it and the service is very good :)

this was my 3rd visit to Sarod's in the last 3 years. The food quality is down from a 9 to a 7 (out of 10). And the service was very slow and confused. We were a group of 10 people and I made the orders, I was specific to the point of writing down the number of each plate... More

Went to Sarod's on the basis of the rave review in Trip Advisor and was quite disappointed. It was fine but nothing to write home about. And it was quite pricey. The Thai on Bergmann across the street from the Markthalle is much better and much cheaper.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
