Excellent restaurant in a nice part of Berlin

Excellent Central European food in an appealing setting near chic Savigny Platz. Pleasant, clubby atmosphere. I had a superb beef stroganoff -- rich, velvety sauce. Good service. Cash only.

If you are in Berlin, this should make your list, a great representation of Austrian/German specialties. The service is most personable and the quality of the food is exceptional.

Food was good. They did bring me wrong dish at first, but they fixed it quickly. Service was ok. Lots of old people there. If you are in the neighbourhood, you should visit.

A first time visit to this restaurant - because of its proximity to our hotel. The waiters were very helpful, making recommendations and being very patient with our questions. The restaurant boasts of authentic Austrian food. The servings were very generous and you need to plan ahead to ensure you have some space for desserts. The schnitzel and fish dishes... More

This place was recommended by our concierge at our hotel and it didn't disappoint. The service was very good and the waiter was very informative helping us with our choice of Austrian wine as it not wine we had ever tried before. We had the goulash and bacon dumplings. Both very tasty. Definitely worth a visit!

The wife and I keep coming back to this great Austrian restaurant in the middle of Berlin. The guests we occassionally bring keep coming back as well. Let me start with the owner cum chef. Johanna is the real thing. She does what she loves and loves what she does. And she makes sure that all of her guests feel... More

The cuisine was too heavy for our family: a three course meal is almost out of the question for most diners. The portions are all very generous (two different schnitzels were interesting, but scarcely more) - however, a real difficulty was that the main courses came enveloped in a too-heavy sauce. The wine was reasonably priced. No complaints about the... More

We thoroughly enjoyed Nussbaumerin. The weinerschnitzel was delicious and the larger portion was more than enough for one person. The potato salad was one of the best we've tried in Germany. They are famous for their Austrian dessert which is similar to a free-firm pancake. I can't remember what it is called. You can have it with our without raisins.... More

Very rude personnel. My wife and I went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and when we arrived, they ignored the reservation we made days earlier, and gave us a table on a corner. While it is a nice place, they offered only the saddest spot in the restaurant, and the only table that was not dressed. After saying to... More

The staff were great, nothing was a problem, we all had kase spatzel as that is what we came for and it was superb. They were child friendly, and very helpful. The food was excellent, good portions, you may think it is small but bring very rich we were completely stuffed, so much so we wanted to try their desserts... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
