Fist experience...surely not the last!

We just decided to go for something unusual for dinner. We had no reservation and being just a group of three we decided for a totally last minute decision. The restaurant was absolutely nice and cozy and we were allowed to change the seat since the open window let in some chilly air. The waitress... read more

Exactly what we were looking for. No show off, simply decorated, a good feeling being there, with nice other eaters inside. The food was humus, falafel, aubergine. Fresh pressed or... More

At a fair price, we got a large, filling portion of hummus with a lot of bread. I took hummus with goulash, which was delicious. I drink self-made lemonade that is incredibly sour yet very refreshing. The ambiance is relaxed and perfectly matched by the background music. Also, service personnel is friendly and the food is served quickly.

Nice neighborhood and delicious hummus. The normal potion is big, I can eat a lot but I didn't manage to finish it all. I ate a vegetarian hummus with various vegetables my partner ate with meat. I drank warm apple cider (non alcoholic) I never drink something like this before but its taste very good.

I went with a couple of friends and can honestly say it was easily the best place we ate for the whole time. I can't wait to go again.

We had dinner here thinking it would be a full Israeli restaurant. It is actually a hummus bar with a limited menu. The hummus is tasty (but needed salt and the lemon juice they provided on the side) and the fresh warm pita excellent. The hummus comes in two sizes. I got the 'normal' and wished I had gotten the... Food is excellent, the best hummus I had in Berlin so far, both in taste and choices. For whom have been in the middle east, this is the place where to refill yourself and choose among their wide choice of hummus plates and other Israeli (Middle eastern and north african mostly) dishes, including the unbeatable Israeli salad! Staff is super... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
