Amazing experience!

While I hate the word "foodie" I do consider myself to be someone who loves and appreciates good food. And so when I took my little brother on a trip to Europe and Berlin was on of our stops, I knew we had to have dinner at Tim Raue. And it absolutely delivered. We stopped in for lunch and choose to have the 6 course menu. The restaurant décor was simple and modern but relaxing, and it was refreshing to enjoy a fine dining experience in a light, casual atmosphere rather than a stuffy and formal setting. The food was absolutely excellent as I'm sure many others have written about in more detail... More

I am a very happy returning customer who continues to enjoy the attentive service and terrific fusion food on offer. The food is: umami!! Please keep up the good work. I love to come on saturdays for lunch as TR is the only top restaurant in Berlin that opens for lunch on saturdays. Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended!! Well deserved... More

The restaurant is minimalist and stylish. The food is amazing, creative, beautiful and very tasty. The rhythm between courses was perfect and service was excellent.

We had lunch here on my boyfriends 30th birthday. He is a chef and it is difficult to think of places that he will be wowed by and wanting to make the day really special, and after reading reviews and the ethos of Tim Raue, I was determined this would be the right choice. We opted for lunch menu as... More

Had the 4 course lunch menu- hakau, pork cheek, Peking duck and thai mango. Appetizers were disappointing with the pastry skin of hakau being too mushy unlike those found in proper dimsum restaurants , Peking duck was ambitious with its flavors had a nice balance overall. Dessert I would just say it's not to my liking. Having eaten so much Asian... More

I was on a trip to Madrid and Berlin and decided to tick off some Michelin Star restaurants from my bucket list. I had not planned to do Tim Raue as Asian fusion by a Berliner had me worried but boy was I wrong. My meal via the degustation menu was undeniably the best meal I have ever had. Each... More

Being Asian, I was a bit concerned about how I would review an Asian fusion restaurant. Located around the corner from Check Point Charlie, the restaurant is located off the street in a small courtyard. The food is definitely a fusion of various Asian cuisines but tempered down somewhat from what Asian palettes are used to. Having said that, the... More

We couldn't get in to Tim Raue for dinner because it was already fully booked so we settled for lunch. There's much the same menu with the same selections but for fewer Euros. Two of us had ten different dishes and each one was delivered with full accompaniments, and were exciting to see and eat. Even the amuse bouche of... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
