Marvelous oriental experience; Superb!

I know this restaurant is appreciated very highly and excited after visiting its sister restaurant recently. This is a very well-located nice restaurant near Check Point Charlie and I saw several business people over lunch time. Atmoshere was nice, sophisticated, and comfortable light coming from large windows. I had thought the set for 3 dishes for 38 euro wasn't bad...till... More

the service is great, the food is well presented with a hint of Chinese flavour. The use of ginger, garlic soya sauce is dare I say, adventureous by the master chef. Well worth two star byt pricy

Tim Raue is a very impressive chef. Several years ago on our first trip to Berlin we had been delighted with the experience of dining at his earlier Restaurant 44 in the Berliner Swissôtel. We had judged it one of the best meals of that holiday. We were thrilled on our most recent trip to Berlin to see how his... More

Went there without a reservation and got a table ! Vow ! Waiters were helpful too. We tried the winter menu and unique menu. Initially surprised to see a pair of chopsticks ! As the evening unfolds, we were taken by surprise over each dish that was served. A fusion of Chinese and German food ! Right use of soya... More

Tim Raue has two Michelin stars and is specialized in Asian-Fusion cuisine. The atmosphere is very relaxed and easy going which is nice since it avoids the stuffy and overly formal setting that such restaurants sometimes have. In terms of design it is comparable to Reinstoff, another two star restaurant in Berlin. The service is very nice and the set-up... More

If you have the change to spend one night in Berlin, try to have a table at Tim Raue ! It's also a part of what Berlin is now days. If the desert have also been exceptional as the rest of the diner, it would have been one of best 10 world more exceptional dining experience. What ever it's a... More

I had the pleasure of visiting Berlin for work and sadly was travelling solo without my wife to share this amazing culinary experience! I was most fortunate to get a very last minute booking for a solo table at this 2-Michelin star restaurant on a Thursday night! Initially, it was with some trepidation that I stepped into the courtyard entrance... More

Not for the meek or the struggling young artist (unless it's paid by your sugar daddy). This is haute cuisine with a corresponding sticker shock. A lovely room with exquisite service, and a menu for the cognoscenti. In a country where perfection is passion, you have a chef who thrives on perfection. Every Asian inspired dish is a work of... In Berlin's overcrowded, and often underwhelming, dining scene, Tim Raue is a shining star. Although pricey (as expected from a two Michelin Star experience), the service was excellent and the food quality stellar. We also had excellent wines, not always easy to find in Germany. Overall, a great vacation splurge or foodie indulgence.

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
