Nice comes at a price.

This is a strange review to write, because there wasn't much wrong with our experience, it's just that it wasn't that memorable. Dinned at this restaurant when visiting Berlin for a conference. The dish presentations with the chef explaining what the dishes were was very interesting. We ate very well that night and will go beck again. It was expensive but you expect this at this kind of restaurant.

The setting, the restaurant, the menu and the food are spectacular, brilliant place, but unfortunately I cant give it a rating of 5 because for the place the service was from poor to appalling, and the price is a bit too high for what you get. So if you want to splash some cash and you are not bother from... More

I had lunch with a colleague while in Berlin and we were very pleased with the menu it was very creative and the dumplings were excellent. The wine was good and the service was fine. I felt that it was a little rushed and this is not normal for a fine dinning establishment were it is the opposite problem in... More

I always say the good things first but I'm going to start with the bad. I always hear the expression is a pleasure for us tu have you but in this case it was an honor for me for this restaurant to agree to have me. I went with small group and we didn't want a close menu so we... More

This meal had the potential to be overwhelming and/or disappointing. It was neither. In fact, it was a triumph. We sat at the Krug table by the kitchen and were treated to a succession of beautifully assembled and wonderfully tasty dishes. The “amuse bouche” was an array of 5-6 different dishes, all beautifully presented and a harbinger of the great... More

Better than expected. Having heard a lot about Tim Raue oriental approach, I decided to try. And it was a wonderful surprise. Arriving you see the stick sat table, so you expect an 'asiatic''lunch. And you get sublimated asiatic dishes going up from best dumplings I ever tryed to a magnificent peking duck deconstructed as you can not imagine. All... More

I know this restaurant is appreciated very highly and excited after visiting its sister restaurant recently. This is a very well-located nice restaurant near Check Point Charlie and I saw several business people over lunch time. Atmoshere was nice, sophisticated, and comfortable light coming from large windows. I had thought the set for 3 dishes for 38 euro wasn't bad...till... More

the service is great, the food is well presented with a hint of Chinese flavour. The use of ginger, garlic soya sauce is dare I say, adventureous by the master chef. Well worth two star byt pricy

Tim Raue is a very impressive chef. Several years ago on our first trip to Berlin we had been delighted with the experience of dining at his earlier Restaurant 44 in the Berliner Swissôtel. We had judged it one of the best meals of that holiday. We were thrilled on our most recent trip to Berlin to see how his... More

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
