Tim Raue is a very different and distinctive restaurant. Tucked away in a courtyard, the entrance is not accessible through the Main Street. There are 2 tasting menus and an a la carte menu as well. If you opt for the tasting menu be prepared for a 2 1/2 hour meal. You are first met with an 8 dish amuse... More

Lunch was great here. Service is flawless period. Wine list is deep with strength in German Riesling. Food was delicious and artfully presented.

One could not expect the kind of restaurant, if you just walk by. To enter, you need to find your way from the street through the passage and inner courtyard. Nice white and oriental decoration. Great food journey starts from the amouse bouche. Several lunch options, we took the 6 course menu. All of them were perfect in their own... More

We were excited to have a dinner in this legendary restaurant in Berlin. Some of the dishes were really good. For example the lobster was delicious and the portion looked like a piece of art. Some other dishes were ok but not great, and we left the restaurant with mixed feelings: for this price one could expect more consistent quality.... More

We booked a table for lunch on our last day in town. The previous days we had dined at Asian/Vietnamese restaurants, good but nothing more. Our experience at Tim Raue was truly satisfactory from start to end. We opted for the three course spring menu that at 38 euros looks attractive. In hindsight we could have chosen the four or... beautiful food, not very surprising though. But still top food! Nice staff. Erg lekker, maar het haalt het Qua creativiteit niet bij Heston blumenthal's eten. Maar wel enorm genoten, natuurlijk. Especially the langoustine was more than delicious!

A take on Asian cuisine, this place has a very creative menu. We tried the Chef's menu with the Peking Duck and every dish was special. While some of the sauces can be on the sweet side, the dishes were flavourful and expertly presented. Staff were great and very good wine recommendations from the somelier.

Each dish was a wonder, with layers of taste and textures. We chose the 3 course meal, and selected from starters, mains, and desserts. We had lunch, our usual approach with high-end places when traveling, so it's the major meal of the day and we don't fall asleep bloated. Probably easier to get a reservation for lunch. Nothing to dislike... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
