It was near the hotel. Had great food and English speaking servers. The spatzle was fantastic. Also had a special holiday menu with venison, goose, and wild boar.

Visited this German kneipe in Christmas time. The place was cozy and lively, the staff were welcoming and friendly. The goulash soup and schnitzel Dicke Wirtin was outstanding. The portions are gigantic. Great German beer. Reservations required. Highly recommended if you want to go eating German style.

The is a fantastic place for authentic German food and beer. There were some tourist like me, but by and large the crowd was mostly Germans. I would highly recommend the schnitzel and cold pilsner. The portions are massive and you will likely not finish. Service is fantastic and they do offer an English menu. The atmosphere is very cosy... More

Its worth going on a busy night just to sit at the bar and watch the barman in action. He is the business. Its the most chrismassy pub i have ever been in.It was packed to the rafters with mostly berliners on there festive parties.Great selection of drinks and i dont know how many home made "schnaps".I enjoyed it so much the... We had read that this was a great place to eat and took a chance on just turning up without booking. They fitted us in sharing a table with others but that was fine. The place was buzzing and lively, all the staff were more than welcoming and more than happy to help and make suggestions on choice. Do try... More

Went there for a wedding lunch in Christmas time - it was very cosy, christmasy, with "home-cooking" style of german food. Tasty. Friendly staff. Highly recommended if you want to go eating Berliner style!

What an absolute shame that my partner and I ate an absolutely wonderful meal, which was ruined by the staff that served us. I had a delicious goose breast, my partner the veal ragout. Outstanding flavours and large, hearty (too large really) portions. From entering to leaving (more about that later), we were met with scornful faces and yet one... More

It was a busy night and with no reservations we were lucky to get a spot at the bar. Food was plentiful and beer flowing. Bar staff was very receptive to all who ate there.

I asked my hotel to book this for me after reading the reviews on here. They told me they could only book a table in a room adjacent to the main restaurant. I had visions of sitting in a hall way but decided to go with it. We were sat in a lovely room with just a few tables. Great... More

Visited this restaurant following looking at the great reviews on trip advisor, and we were not disappointed! You do need to book, we went on a Sunday evening and were told we would get a table after 9pm, and people were still turning up at 10.30pm. It looks nothing from the outside but once inside the service is excellent and... More
