Traditional bierhaus!

Big selection of local beers(and more), accompanied by very tasteful dishes, well cooked, huge portions. Specialty the house schnitzel, but look fot it only if your stomach feels empty. A little crowdy, went there twice in order to find an empty table.

It was a pretty busy evening when we visited this pub. All tables occupied. Staff was correct but not very inviting. Service was pretty fast. Nice. We liked the food, though not that special. It was a nice experience being there. My son had a typical meal from this restaurant: Geschnetzeltes Streifen vom Rumpsteak mit frischen Champignons und Rahmsosse und... More

Dinner outdoors on the sidewalk tables. Ample portions of Berliner-German food and local beers. The name is local slang for "The Fat Lady", the founder and character on the menus.

I came here with two business friends. Many Italian,Greek,Indian restaurants around. It was about 8pm on Friday night. All empty but Dicke. Great beer, no music, only talk . We had German beer (Berliner )with some sausages ,asparagus , potato salad and beer again. We left with great mood and good aftertaste. Recommended -50 Euro for 3 including 20% tip.

Very friendly staff, decent prices and huge portions make this well worth a trip. We both ordered the house schnitzel and neither of us managed to finish it. The food is by no means gourmet - it's authentic, home-style stuff that simply tastes great. Located in a lovely part of town to take a stroll through as well.

Good traditional german food. Large portions and the rouladen was as good as oma makes it. Schnitzel was large enough for two.

We visited Dicke Wirtin 2 years ago on a 3 day visit to Berlin. The food was excellent and the portions were huge. Our favorite dinning experience was made possible by our favorite waiter in all of our many summers spent traveling Europe. We again found ourself in Berlin June 2015 and planned to dine at Dicke Wirtin as part of... More

Great German dinner at the "Dicke Wirtin" at 7pm. On my quest for real German food in Berlin I had dinner one evening a great German dinner at the "Dicke Wirtin" . Fortunately I only started out with a small salad. My main meal was the HUGE Wiener Schnitzel. This is one of very few times when I could not... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
