Nice bar

We were only in Berlin for one night so I'd looked online for somewhere to go for the evening. We didn't want to stay at our hotel and wanted to try somewhere more traditional rather than something we could get back home so this place seemed like it would suit us. It was quite a walk from our hotel... read more

We booked in advance for this traditional German Kneipe style restaurant as we really wanted to experience it. The atmosphere was brilliant and the staff really friendly and helpful. Great food and drinks menu. The food was lovely however there was far too much!!! We both ordered Schnitzel and I had a huge portion but my boyfriends portion was ridiculous... More

Friendly pub serving 9 draught beers and more in bottles, along with huge portions of food from a large menu.

Happened to come across this little place when walking around nearby our hotel. Looked very busy so thought we would give it a go due to its popularity and we weren't disappointed! Managed to get what seemed to be the only table free there as the place was packed so reserving a table would be handy. There's a wide choice... More

Managed to get a table at the second time of trying and that was because another couple kindly agreed that we could share their table. So the general advice is - make a reservation!! Staff all very friendly and food was great - huge choice of authentic German fare. The schnitzel was large enough to feed a family of four... More

Nice place and easy to find. The food is tasty and the service is good. I'm not into beer, but my friends said that it's also good. I personally think the cook should make an effort to improve desserts.

Charming restaurant with really good food and friendly service. Everybody in the table were very satisfied. My goulash was really nice and the schnitzel my friends were having were huge and tasty. Really good and recommendable choice.

loved the authentic atmosphere, great food, friendly helpful staff, very good price. Top tip: wine is cheaper by the glass - more variety!

Crowded because of its popularity every night, get there early or after the dinner rush if you haven't booked! We hadn't booked but waited at the bar and by the time we got a table we had a fair appetite that was satisfied by a delicious pork knuckle for my husband and a roast pork platter for me. Very tasty.

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
