I do not write many reviews, though we travel a lot for being over 60 yo. This place deserves one. To get there, go to check point charlie on the U, walk up to The street where you see the Domino's and turn left (towards Domino's). Walk about 2 blocks and turn left and you will see their sign in... More

The place is really down to earth. There were people on dates, families, gathering of friends, and so on. Atmosphere was good. Friendly English speaking waiter and an English menu were a pleasant surprise. We ordered a ramp steak with rosemary potatoes for me and the mini steak for the kid (100gr sirloin with fries). The steaks were very good... More

Went to this restaurant because we were going to a concert at the Tempodrom and the hotel was local (and I love a good steak). We decided not to book as we were going to the concert at 7 so we needed to eat early. We were lucky to get a table, the waiter said we could have the table... More

What a lovely find! We had sort this restaurant out after seeking ones near to our hotel (not far from Check Point Charlie). We walked around the area to make our reservation. There is nothing pretentious about this place, well apart from the fake fire! The staff were fantastic, attentive but left us if they thought we needed more time.... More

If you're looking for a restaurant with excellent food that isn't too posh, this is perfect. Especially if you like steaks. Both of us had the Rib-Eye. It was perfectly cooked, but not the most tender steak I've had. Still excellent, though. All the wines are from Argentina, and the one we had was very good and recommended by our... More

We booked this restaurant based on the positive reviews on T/A and we were certainly glad we did. The restaurant is located just around the corner from Checkpoint Charlie and when we got there the place was virtually fully booked. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the main attaction is the steak which was of a very high standard.We... More

we got the best service and most delicious steaks at Asador steakhouse. The waiters paid attention all the time and the steaks melted in your mouths. I recommend to book a table in advance otherwise it's almost impossible to get one. the prices are in the lower end.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
