Great German experience

If you are looking for some traditional German food - this is the place. The soups are good and the main dishes are big delicious - worth the price. Make sure you ask for the English menu of the special meals. The place looks really classy and authentic German. Worth the visit!

Very inviting restaurant serving delicious food. The portions are very generous with local specialities. I had roast pork leg with green cabbage and parsley potatoes! Definitely worth the visit!

Very lovely place, we had a long conversation here and the environment was chill. We were glad we weren't kicked out by the lady, lol. They serve you a lot for one single plate, so don't order too much. The location is great, a five minutes walk from Alexanderplatz. Thanks for offering us a great re-union.

Simply put my meal was disgusting. Don't know what prompted me to order Pork Knuckle. If this was my first ever experience of pork I would be put off for life. The meat was encassed in an armour of fat to begin with. After peeling it back I realised that nearly what was left was nearly half the size. The... More

Nice small restaurant in a very central area. Food is really good and typical. The wildsuppe is a definite yes! Waitress very friendly and smiling, together with a quick service and cheap prices makes it a must try in berlin.

Not a spare spot on the walls or windowsills the place is full of kitsch Christmas decorations - just like being around at your grandmas twenty or thirty years ago. Fabulous and warming - as was the service and welcome. The three of us had traditional lunch - duck with dumplings , venison and red cabbage etc. large beers and... More

We stepped in here for a late lunch/early dinner, after a busy day walking around town. Like other restaurants we went to in Berlin, this had a really homely atmosphere. Lots of polished wood and funny ornaments and a clock that went backwards, coupled with a welcoming waiter and the standard, delicious cold beer. My partner loves pork knuckle and... More

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
