Small traditional

Traditional German restaurant with many local dishes at reasonable prices. Good no fuss service and nice atmosphere. Recommended – will visit next time I’m in Berlin.

I was looking on here for somewhere to have some typical German 'stick to your ribs' comfort food while in Berlin and this place certainly didn't disappoint. I had the grilled pork knuckle with fried potatoes and cabbage, my mother had the schnitzel with chips and salad and both were exactly what the doctor ordered. Huge plates of tasty, filling,... If you like to eat pork leg or pork knee this is the place! Really tasty food in a very familiar place. In this place you will find just local people drinking local beers!

Accidentally dropped in here and had the special which was pork knuckle and a beer for under 10 euro. Food and beer were great, service quick and friendly Can recommend this place if you're looking to still your need for German food.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
