Nice location.

The restaurant is located near the river and on the summer time there are any table outside close to the water. In the middle there is a street and this make the service not so easy, but anyway good. The menù have a good quantity of choice, and what I tried was good. The price are a little higher... read more

This is a great place to sit next to the water. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They were gracious and helped us in English. As always, I look for a good vegetarian dish. They have a wonderfully rich and tasty curry dish. I travel with a meat eater - he really enjoyed the schnitzel. SAVE room for dessert.... More

Wandering about Berlin (we were logging about 10 miles per day on foot between going for runs, walking here and there and simply the walking required of living in Berlin without a car) we decided it was seriously time for a snack. Our go-to "snack" is pommes frites with a beer or a glass of wine. Die Eins had pommes... More

When we found "Die Eins", we could never imagine, that this place was so good. Their prices are really good and the food is delicious. We were in vacations when we lunch there and the attention was really good too.

We' ve tried several restaurants in Berlin, and this was definetely one of the best. Good prices and good flavor. We recommend the Salmon and the Lentils soup. Lecker! Mmm!

Belligerent impertinent waitress, poor service, expensive prices! I ordered a beer and my friend an ice-cream Sunday. Slow service but we were not in a hurry. The bill came to 11.90 Euro. I had a large amount of coins and I wanted to get rid of as much as possible before returning to Norway. We do not use Euro in... More

We had a very bad experience. We ordered a coffee with cake and that, according to the price list, should cost € 11,40. The coffee and cake came with an interval of 15 minutes. It turned out that we had to pay extra for some things that we had not ordered. In the end we had to pay € 21.5.... More

Ate here a few times and found it excellent. Both the food and service first class. Would recommend having small main plate which was more than big enough. All food very tasty.

After taking a visitor tour at ARD's "Hauptstadtstudio", we decided to have lunch & ice cream at the restaurant next door. The service was very slow, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. The food was of average quality. The menu ist somewhat limited. And all this comes at relatively steep prices, thanks only to the proximity to the "Reichstagsufer", sadly... More

Standard German menu. Sauerbraten and Rotkraut were fine, but nothing special. Nice place, friendly service. It went because it was near my work.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
