It is not a bad restaurant, with a good staff and service, but the meal says nothing at all. I was served a Tarte Tatin as a starter when it seemed to be a dessert (sweet and creamy like a dessert tatin) but with the main course, the duck, there was a really strange mix of flavors: sweet, bitter, spicy...... Had dinner at Cafe Madrid in December and it was average. Nice atmosphere and reasonable prices. Shrimps and potatoes were good. Chicken and salad were tasteless and not interesting. Pleasant staff.

We sat for almost 10 minutes waiting to be served and eventually walked out! The restaurant wasn't busy, there were plenty of staff, the waiters had seen us go to sit at a table and had placed a menu on the table with no words and having been in here for coffee two days earlier we knew it was table... We ate in the downstairs area of this restaurant which looks smart and upmarket. The service was good and friendly but the tapas were a disappointment. The flavours were a little bland and overall, nothing to write home about. Perhaps we should have known not to eat tapas in Germany!

I went here solo for dinner on a week night. I had manchego salad, fried anchovies and bomba tapas as well as a steak pintxo. All excellent. After two glasses of very good Rioja I felt replete. Service was friendly and prompt. I'll certainly go here again. I had an altogether pleasant evening.

had a sallad and glass of wine midday. The service was slow and unfriendly, the sallad below standard and the price horrendous, especially when relating to the quality. I was the worst place our company visited during a week in Berlin.

We stopped in the cafe for an afternoon pick-me-up and had some truly excellent German coffee (try the Eiskaffee, which is hot coffee poured over ice cream). Even though our order was small and we lingered quite a while, staff were friendly and solicitous. Great view of the Spree from the second story windows as well.

Melia is a wonderful hotel, with excellent location. This restaurant has a river view and you can eat very good foof either spanish or German. I really like it and the service is excellent in the whole hotel, either in LAS TAPAS

This restaurant is on the corner of Freideriche(sp) Strasse and the River Spree with a stunning out look over the River. The food was Tapas style and the choice was a combination of German & Spanish Dishes. Service & Food was excellent. €60 for 8 dishes (way too many) , 2 wines & 2 beers. Great value

Lovely location and a nice spring evening. What is there not to feel good about dinner? Maybe expecting too much but the tapas were unimaginative (garlic shrimps ......just did not taste special). Lovely location.
