Great Duck!

Nice place, nice service. Probably even better in good weather, as the grounds look interesting. But damn, that duck was great. Really.

Facility is about basics and food is OK, service was excellent. Being a large group, the small crew did a great job. Infrastructure in general is pretty standard and compared to other similar features it really flies below. At a neighborhood apart from the action, makes this place kind a boring

I never liked duck until I had it at this place. Duck is what they serve, and as the lady there said, "we have been doing it a long time, it is what we know what to cook."

We dined at this restaurant at the end of our whirlwind trip to Berlin and it was a perfect venue for a quiet, slow-paced meal. The service and food was perfection! I would suggest the fixed-price meal as it was particularly delicious with a very special dessert. We enjoyed how the room was decorated and they also have a nice... More

Loosely mentioned to them on the phone that I was going there for my wedding anniversary and they responded to that offering a nice 'cake' at the end to our utmost surprise. Choice in the menu is very limited which is a plus when food is good which is definitely the case. Also, menu is colorful, joyful and well presented.... More

I liked all the food. The food is good. Not fabulous but certainly good. Not very expensive but it is not cheap at all

This cunningly hidden restaurant is a private secluded villa on the banks of the Kreutzberg canal. The mainly German menu is expertly prepared and elegantly served.

Decided to try this as it was recommended in The Rough Guide and Eyewitness Tavel Top 10. It is a strange place which appeared to be closed up when we arrived. The front door was locked and we were just about to leave when I noticed a sign off to one side saying in both German and English to press... More

This restaurant was suggested by the concierge of our hotel. We wanted to taste a typical German menu. It was a good choice, food tasty and superb. I had farm duckling of the region Brandenburg and very light Silesian poppy seed cake.

We spent a cold winter evening in this cozy restaurant. Booking is advisable and was easily done online. We arrived at 8pm and it was quiet, but filled quickly. It has a very enjoyable, relaxed atmosphere with an up-market, cozy feel. Good for romantic dinners or business. I had the venison in gin source. It was cook perfectly, very tender.... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
