Very good schnitzel & beer

The traditional German food was very good and the portions quite large. The beers were also good. It was nice to sit outside in the quiet street on a very hot summer's evening. The waitress was friendly and could speak English.

I suppose that with the passage of time, all things come to an end. Unfortunately this wonderful restaurant has closed it's doors and now looks like it's being transformed into shops.

My dad and I found this traditional Berliner Kneipe as it was close to our hotel but didn't need to find anywhere else for the rest of our stay!! Proper German cooking, plain and honest. A friendly welcome and a great selection of drinks. What more could you ask?

The customers were all locals, with no sign of any tourists. I highly recommend the Pork Knuckle, which although it sounds weird, is a very tender and meaty ham shank. If comes with boiled potatoes and sauerkraut, and something puréed, which was not to my taste, but was possibly pease pudding. Lots of local beers on offer, and you can... More

I have visited this restaurant for both dinner and lunch and I have always been very satisfied. Very tasty food and beer from ice cold glasses.

Eaten here many times during our many visits to Berlin. The atmosphere is great, and the staff are second-to-none. Every meal here is an experience: unfortunately once you find your favourites, that's what you stick to. This isn't touristy, and we've never seen any other non-Germans in here! Tips: the pork leg is sublime, the steaks in beer sauce is... More

We ate at this restaurant on our first night in Berlin as our hotel was nearby. The service was good and the food was traditional German washed down with very good local beer. Service was friendly and the price was very reasonable. This is a good local restaurant that is not swanky but the décor was quite acceptable and the... More

This is a great bar and restaurant serving good German cuisine with very friendly staff. It’s has a relaxed atmosphere and is in a fairly quiet street just of the busy Kurfurstendamm. A minor point is that credit cards are not accepted.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
