Good authentic schezuan food!

I have been a regular visitor to this restaurant for some time. After trying numerous chinese restaurants in Berlin and finding them lacking, I am delighted to say that Hot Spot actually produces the authentic cuisine I learned to love during my time in Hong Kong. Hot Spot was recommended to me by a friend for their wine list. And I have to say their wine list is superior, especially for a Chinese place! Their selection on German wines is something to come here for. Food is also really tasty as the flavors are rich and dishes have been well prepared. Service is not fine dining... More

Been there on Thursday. Fantastic food and wine assortment; acceptable atmosphere - no place for a romantic dinner - but who cares in view of the quality of the food preparation. Bang Bang Ji is a clear recommendation as a starter and the roasted duck smoked on tealeaves is simply fantastic.

The food is neither elegant nor authentic Chinese. If you are looking for that, try London or New York or Hong Kong, not Berlin. There's no view, the interior is rather plain and the location is definitely not hip, yet it's difficult to get a seat at the Hot Spot. Maybe it's because the food tastes good to a European... More

We returned from a day in Dresden tired and hungry. We had been told the food at Hot Spot was excellent, they had an amazing wine list, and late hours. The food was delicious, quick, and we were able to eat and quickly retire after a long day.

...... For chef and serving staff. I was observed but constantly ignored when seeking attention in a less then busy restaurant. My duck was ruined by excessive black bean sauce - it should enhance the flavour of the duck - not smoother and kill it! Ribs were similar with a too sweet sauce. When a chef hides the taste of... Really good chinese food! This is not a tourist trap but an honest place with fair prices and cozy atmosphere.

unusual chinese cooking and a wonderful collection of white wines. Simple furniture far different from all the usual chinese Restaurants in Germany. If you are looking for good chinese food combined with a good german whine, mainly Riesling, this place is yours.

Had just my third visit here. There's so much to love in this place. Atmosphere, winelist, food, customer service. First is the starter soup, which gives you a little hint from the rest menus hotness. Next you get cold ones, which are all really good, whatever it's tofu, cucumber, mushrooms or cold meat. Warm foods ups things to a different... More

Poor service, food bland and all tasted the same, staff not really interested. Was surprised this place has so many good reviews I definitely would not return.
