Käfer is a well-known name in Bavarian gastronomy with, since a few years, a spectacular restaurant on the rooftop of the Reichstag. The whole ambiance rather strict, clean and not cheap. Wine list with only German wines which requires some knowledge. Open doors to the roof terrace on the side kills the airconditioning which is a problem when it is... More

We reserved a table for breakfast based on a recommendation, from a friend (You have to book in advance for security reasons - fair enough!). I'm very glad we did as we weren't planning to visit the glass dome at the Reichstag, (which was simply fantastic btw!) The breakfast was lovely and the setting is unbelievable. The staff were lovely... More

After a long day of walking Berlin, we made it to the top of the Reichstag. A traditional German coffee and cake would have been the perfect end, but 3 of us (3 generations, incidentally) were turned away from the café that had 8 huge empty tables reserved for one of the massive bus tours coming later. Don't bother.

I booked a Table at Kafer Dachgarten about 1 Week in advanced as I knew it was quite busy there. Make sure to write down or remember the ID Number given at the time of reservation, that will be your "jump the queue" Ticket to get inside. The Restaurant is located on the top floor of the Reichstag Building. If... More

Like one of your other reviewers we booked at the Kafer as we were not able to get a place for the guided tour of the Reichstag ,and decided we would treat ourselves. The set price for four courses (65Euros/£54) I thought was very reasonable and whilst the drinks weren't cheap we had a nice bottle of wine for under... More

I like the unplanned things because many times good surprises can happen! Or maybe it was mainly because I was in a complete ecstasy after walking around the Reichstag glass dome on sunset time…Anyway, we was just leaving the building (we were the last ones!) and out of the blue we decided to eat something in the Parliament’s restaurant, mainly... ... and in a historical place (on the top of Reichstag, in the emminence of Hitler and the World War II the building was fired) with great sightseeing! You should book a reservation.

We had been invited for dinner by a business partner and we had about 40 to 45 people from all across Europe. No need to explain that visiting the dome and having dinner at such a special location were impressive. The weather wasn't that good but still there was a nice view of the Berlin skyline. The atmosphere in the... More

On a rooftop over Berlin... Avoiding the masses at the Reichstag, we thought to book a table for our team meeting and the Kafer restaurant. The view is impressive, even at night with a minor snow storm and at minus 12 Degrees, when we went there. The restaurant is on top of the German Reichtag and has direct access to... More

In a way I have to laugh when thinking back on this restaurant. Booking a table at the restaurant is a good way to secure getting the very best view over looking Berlin. The desserts are amazing (best creme brulé ever). The staff totally in-different and slooooooow. The food and drinks are hugely over-prized, but that is to be expected.... More
