great Italian food

one would expect northern Italian fare, given the namesake of this enchanting restaurant, however, various specialties from Sicily to the alps (incl. Sardinia) can be found here. Friendly and competent service and well priced

Stella Alpina was just a few blocks from our apartment, so we headed over one evening ... without a reservation. The room is quite small and cozy and was full of people clearly enjoying themselves. We sat on the patio for a bit. Pleasant enough, but we never could quite seem to get someone to actually let us order any... More

Nice and cozy restaurant. Excellent food. Carbonarra was really good and pizza even better. Staff a bit Italian but very friendly. :-D

A good traditionnal italian place which offers very good and fresh products. I would recommend the pasta with truffles and the calamari's. I would definitely go again when in Berlin !

We struggled with ordering as we do not speak German or Italian , even with the English menu much pointing and hand gestures were needed. We both had draft beer and my partner had some house red which he was not to keen on . The... More

Haven't tasted pasta as good as this outside Rome. Wine was delicious and service excellent. Good value.

I lived in Suarezstrasse at that point when Stella Alpina was the closesed and most honest Italian resturant in our district, meaning honest means straight forward homemade pizzias, salads and the occasional saltiboucca(when then cash came through).Being in my very early 20-ti's,a student;Alpina had huge plates of tasty, fresh, salads and pizzis which would make your mouth water, and almost bring tears to your eyes... We walked in as we were in the surroundings. We originally wanted to try Engelbecken but restaurant was full (even on Monday night) as we didn't think to book a table during the day. So we tried this italian restaurant. Cozy atmosphere and very nice italian food (being italian myself, it is quite a nice compliment!!! You know how picky... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
